Hello in 2023!
And with another WIP-Post. This time its my nightsister bow, one of the coolest things I made yet :D
I used LED wire for the bowstring, it works with two AA batteries and sits in the body of the bow.
First I made a pattern and tried to figure out what I wanted the bow to look like, I went for the classic TCW nightsister bow look and added a few details. Figuring out the size was a bit difficult here, in the first picture you can see all the measurements I took. The bows main part is constructed out of a piece of wood and a metal floor cover bar that's used to cover the seams between differnt floors at doors. I really don't know if door bar is the right word here (Auf deutsch würd ich einfach Türleiste sagen). I bend the two pieces in shape after attaching them with worbla angles and screws.
I covered everything with EVA foam and also built the main body with the two pipes/handles out of foam. The LED wire goes around the whole bow and the end comes out of the handle where you can pull the string later. I sanded down all the edges and then decided to add those diamond shaped details. I covered everything except the string with flexgrund. After it dried the bow got a silver coat and some darker and lighter highlights.
Oh and I drilled a hole where the string should go through the middle of the main body of the bow and put a rolled up piece of worbla transpa through and then fittet the end of the LED wire into the straw like worbla piece.
