WIP: Nightsister Sword

Here you can see what happens with a cosplay prop when I am in a real rush :D

I used a reference I found online for the sword, I just made it slightly curved to look a bit more samurai.

The sword is made out of 4 layers of EVA foam, cardboard and PVC pipes to make it more sturdy. I struggled a bit, because at first the whole thing was so wobbly, I had to glue in parts of a PVC pipe and a piece of wood until it was sturdy enough to hold in a hand and not bend down in the front. I don't know if that is understandable :D

Then I carved down the edges and dremeled the whole thing down.

I primed the whole thing with flexgrund, and here is the rush part: There was no time to let it dry properly so I used my heat gun to dry it. When sealer is put under a lot of heat it dries but also get bubbly and brittle. And that's also what I wanted to achieve with the paint: I wanted the acid bath look! And with a lot of paint I had my rusty old nightsister blade.

Last two things were a fake leather gripwrap and a red fabric ribbon.
