[Progress Log] Playful Pitou

So I decided to make this post to show you the progress on my latest pic, step by step! I haven't done these before, but I thought those might be some cool behind the scenes stuff!

So let's see how things got done!

1 - First, the sketch. I usually use magenta because it stands out from the white BG, and it also happens to be my favorite colour! Huzzah!

2- Then comes the lineart. I try to do my lines clean and without loose ends, so the bucket tool may be useful later, duting colouring. This is by far the step that takes most time to complete!

3- Flat colours and BG added, nice and easy. Picked the colours from the original character sheet (Hunter x Hunter), and added a background made out of a rendered image, gave both a nice blue tint, and a slight blur so the character pops!

4- Flat shading! This is what I personally think gives the characters life! So much of the scene is constructed by using shadows and lighting, and you can see her expression change quite a bit!

5- And finally, plug that hole, make it nice and wet; Add a bit of blur to the lighting, then merge all layers to form a single one (then copy+paste and go back so you don't lose the previous ones). On the merged image, apply a gaussian blur, and set layer to either screen or soft light, and voilá!

A nice cinematic look, tho a bit amateur-ish. But I'll keep tinkering with stuff like this, till I master the arts! What do you think? Should I make more of these progress logs in the future? Let me know!
