Patreon... Or not?

I just met with a studio to create a website fir myself.
The main reason is that I want a visual identity. I want to be recognize by a real logo, some iconic color and shapes :)
The second reason is that, as you know, Patreon sucks for creators. not only they want to put their fees higher, but the platform is bugged, clunky, sometimes doesnt even process payments for users, in short, it just sucks.
I'm planning on having a function on my own website that would include a portfolio, an eshop (instead of Storenvy!) integrated AND a subscription system just like Patreon does right now and where people can pick tiers.
Thing is, Patreon has nothing automated and the website could reallt help. New patron? Your rewards would Finally be automatically sent to you instantly.
Bought something in the shop? Automated email with download links.
I think it could be great but I want to know:

I think it's worth using both. Maybe give a bonus to people that use the website since there are no Patreon fees. That should encourage people to move over to the website, lower your workload, and still increase your revenue. A website could also give you a way to sell old sets and even photobooks of your specific sets.

2019-03-23 21:36:03 +0000 UTCI think the biggest problem is with the payment processors like PayPal who have strict policies on what can and can't be sold using their service. It's the reason a lot of NSFW themed content is exclusively available with CC/Debit or Cryptocurrencies.

2019-03-23 14:18:20 +0000 UTCI honestly thought about switching but literally only Patreon authorizes NSFW content; when it's art, the site's don't mind, but as soon as you're flesh and bones, they hate you and close your account :( Patreon has a monopoly on nsfw content in general because they're not excluding it

There are far more better funding website out there like Tipee. And if you create your own website, if the subscription is within my range and adjustable, I'll sign, no problem.

He asked me to make a list of the things that were extremely important to be on the website and that there is a meeting every week with test run to see if it's what I want. Honestly I really thought about it and on something as expensive I think I might act really picky xD

And as you stated a personal website can give you all the features you want and need. Just make sure the people making the website understand what you want so the website ends up being what you want it to be. And not what they think you want it to be, if you get what I'm saying.
