Devil Empire Hierarchy by Mephistopheles

A Lesson From Mephistopheles: The official stance of the Empire, that is it say, the Crown Princes, is that there are only two forms of citizenship. There is they, our Dread Lords and Masters who Reign Supreme, and then there is everyone else beneath them. Yet, with any society, strata and class are bound to manifest.

As always, the Crown Princes stand at the apex, their might and rule unchallenged. The Masters of our Empire.

Next are the Pure-Bloods of the Seventy-Pillars and those who have treaded into the domains of Demonhood, such as myself. Beneath the august powers of the Crown Princes and the Greater Empire, they carve out their own territories and lesser kingdoms, reigning with tyrannical force. They alone are allowed to have a seat in the Parliament of Hell and are given a certain autonomy over their kingdoms, so long as they ensure to keep to the laws of the Crown Princes. This is the Upper Nobility of our Empire.

Beneath them are the Mixed-Bloods of the Pillars' descendants who are denied a seat in the Parliament due to their, perceived, tainted blood. Included amongst them are the bastard children born from the Upper Nobility who are not recognized as belonging to the main House. Usually standing on equal footing are the Extra Houses and their Lords. Unofficially, beneath both these groups, are the Reincarnated Nobles. Those reincarnated Devils who have passed the promotion exams and are recognized by the Satans through either Rating Game dominance, societal contributions or military merit. These three groups form the Lower Nobility of our Empire.

And then there is every other Devil. The billions upon billions of the masses that make up the foundation of the Greater Empire. Their magical ability is limited or unrealized, barely better than the average mortal sorcerer. They labor and service for one another and enjoy the protections of the laws of the Greater Empire and their independent liege lords. It is for they that our beloved Crown Princes strive to keep our hard won peace. They are the Commoners and backbone of our Empire.

And the lowest of the social strata, the many immigrants and refugees without a drop of Devil blood or Evil Piece in their souls. While the Empire be one of Devils, Lord Sirzechs, in his great breadth of wisdom, opened the doors of our partitions of the Underworlds to all who would bend knee to him and his sovereign siblings. While many of us still look on with mistrust and fear due to the conditioning brought upon from the millennia of wars our kind have been immersed in, the integration and fostering of inter-species communities has brought upon numerous cultural, scientific and magical advances. One need only to look towards Infernity to see Lord Ichigo's wisdom bloom like a rose. They are the futyre potential of our Empire.

A/N: If you have questions, feel free to ask. I'm sure Mephisto has some answers in his knowing skull.

Also, for the people who joined recently, there's a mapr of Infernity, Ichigo's realm! Best viewed on PC.

Devil Empire Hierarchy by Mephistopheles

Mephistopheles says: An interesting hypothetical, and one without any precedent in our society. To be a Crown Prince of Hell is not simply to hold a title; it is a metaphysical station within our universe. As such, stepping down is not as easy as retiring from a job. Again, speaking hypothetically, it would be possible that a Crown Prince may step down from governing and leave behind their legal duties, but they would not cease being a Crown Prince. The bonding sacrament to one of the Seven Deadly Sins cannot be undone. It is impossible. The only way for the Sin to be separated from its 'host' is for the Crown Prince to die.

Hypothetically if a Crown Prince were to retire or step down, do they simply join the Upper Nobility and/or join the Parliament of Hell? Or are they given some other special status in honor of their former position? Or does a Crown Prince rule until death?
