A Little Something Extra... and a Poll!

Hey everyone!

I was blown away by the amazing reaction to Party Crasher last week. It was just a little "snackable" story I put together for fun, but it seems like a lot of you really enjoyed having a short, complete piece to dig into!

That has gotten me thinking about the mix of content on my Patreon. Right now, we have the big, epic comic series that take years to unfold, and the longer illustrated novels that take 6+ months. But I realized we don't usually have much in the way of quick, satisfying, one-shot stories anymore.

So, I'm thinking of bringing back a more regular "short story" format! These would be 5-7 page stories, sometimes standalone, sometimes little glimpses into the lives of our favorite characters when they're "off-screen" (like what Kendra or Brooke are up to! Or even main characters like Nikki and Sandy when they're "on hiatus").

This would give us all a fun, bite-sized story to enjoy a couple of times a month and would allow me to explore some different themes and characters without committing to a massive new series.

(This does not mean the novels like Anywhere but Boring and Taylor Made would go away - the goal would be to diversify, not to replace.)

But before I make any changes to the schedule, I'd love to get your thoughts. What do you think of this idea? Please see the poll below!

Thank you all, as always, for your incredible support. You're the reason I get to tell these stories, and your feedback is so important to me.

Now, as a reward for reading all that, here's Kris, enjoying a moment of peace - and then Kris again, breaking our hearts and minds. 💕

Thank you so much, Rob. Your comment gave me a lot to think about... as your comments so often do! Reading that you feel the last chapter of Taylor Made is my finest prose honestly just... wow. That means so much to me, especially from you. 💕 And thank you for your incredible kindness and consideration regarding my workload. You're right that I do feel a lot of pressure, and I really appreciate you seeing that... To be completely honest, I work about 40 - 50 hours a week on the comics on top of my regular 'real' job so sometimes it can be... a lot. But I love doing it because of all the amazing readers and fantastic comments like yours. Your suggestion is really insightful. Focusing on one or two dedicated, long-form prose stories a year, rather than constantly trying to juggle them with everything else, feels like a much more sustainable and joyful approach. It would give those stories the space they deserve, and let that part of my talent shine, just as you said. It’s a wonderful idea that I'm going to seriously consider. Hope that helps? Rob, it helps immensely. Thank you. 💕

Oh, almost forgot. If this debate were to continue with more pictures of Kris, that would be delightful too!

Ive gone for Option 4. Here’s why. I’ve withheld my comments until after considering and rereading Taylor and Dylan’s tales in full, especially the most recent chapter of the former, as I think it’s the finest prose you’ve ever produced. Firstly, you’re already incredibly generous with your time and talent on behalf of your readers, and I’m not sure that we necessarily appreciate just how much hard work and effort you put in. Not only that, you’re also hugely conscientious about keeping to deadlines, and the pressures of those, when you have a day job and family issues to deal with as well are surely enough. So here are my thoughts for what they’re worth. I think you should maintain the current format, but include one or maybe two long-form prose based stories like Taylor per year, because it’s very clear to me that you love doing them, and also that they let an otherwise overlooked aspect of your talent shine. Hope that helps. Rob xxx
