Half Sisters - Episode 53

We are in a transition period...

I'm sorry this episode is a little late. This week has been insane for me. Let's hope this is a better one!

That said... This was a very fun episode to write / make the art - I really love some of the panels!

I can't wait to read what you think! And if you're a Nikki fan, don't worry. She'll be back in the next episode. 😊

Has Sandy helped bring her back to the "right side???" for that to be her instinct...? 😊

Emory Ahlberg

please be honest, please be honest, please be honest

Nina

Aren't they amazing on her!?

Emory Ahlberg

Oh wow....Sandy in those black shiny leggings (swoon!) hehe x

stacy C

Excellent point, Emily. She needs something to hold on to - some reason to look forward to the life she'll be leading instead of the life she needs to leave behind...

Emory Ahlberg

I think Nikki just needs a few small things to click where she realizes a some things are better. Even if it’s just one thing, so long as it’s very important.

Emily Morgan

Not pleasant. I think we can infer from the other characters' experiences that Davis methods for the toys are psychologically manipulative in the extreme!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Digi! Nikki's head is as thick as titanium and that armor's not going to come off easily. She has been through a lot, and her resistance is really rooted in trauma and fear of losing her identity, and grappling with the loss of who she thought she was.

Emory Ahlberg

Hehe, thank you! Yes, she's back there...lurking! 😉

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Jade! That is probably now my favorite expression I've ever created for Sandy - or maybe anyone!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much, Gemma! 💖 Sandy will want to help protect Nikki, especially as she seems to grasp the danger of Second Dawn even though she didn't have to go through the same experience. The dynamic between Mrs. Ferris and Kendra will be interesting. Mrs. Ferris's actions might seem lenient compared to how she treated Sandy, she's also trying to be a better person and reconcile her past mistakes, especially after losing Sofia. Basically, she wants to be the kind of mother that Sofia deserved, and now that Sandy will be stepping into that role, she wants to live up to that for her. Remember, Kendra's submissiveness could be a façade, masking the remnants of her former self. The transformation she underwent might have stripped away some of that hyper-masculine bravado, but it’s hard to believe it’s completely gone.

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, FoxTrot. And soon you'll get it!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Harley! Interesting. To me, it appears like Sandy is absolutely accepting her new role. That's why she had "rich bitch" energy when getting out of the limo, and she's actively choosing to embrace the aspects of her new life that bring her joy like wearing dresses, getting her hair colored / styled, spoiling Josh, sexy time with Josh, etc. 😊 Honestly, I don't think Kendra's past with Davis really belongs in this particular story. Half Sisters is about Sandy and Nikki, their struggles, and how they adapt (or not). Kendra's backstory is important for understanding the depth of Mrs. Ferris's motivations but spending time on her life with Davis would shift the focus away from our main characters. Hopefully having Kendra at the mansion offers a new dynamic and tension - plus I think she and Mortimer will make an interesting pair...

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Tim! Sandy is in whole-hog when it comes to embracing being a young woman, but convincing Nikki will be a different beast altogether. Nikki's resistance isn't just about rejecting femininity - she has deep trauma from Clinic 12. And telling Nikki that she'll be forced back to the island if she doesn't comply could backfire big time. Nikki is as stubborn as a mule and pushing her too hard might just make her dig her (high) heels in deeper. And, yeah, we know the future of Clinic 12 is murky right now since JACK & JILL's a couple of weeks in the future. So, who knows if Davis and his sadistic methods will still be the norm... or if it will even still exist!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Bobbie! That honestly means a lot. I'm having a lot of fun with the character dynamics, as you can probably tell. 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Ella! Do you think Sandy will be amenable to taking on that mentor role for Nikki? Sandy certainly has a unique perspective and empathy that could really help Nikki -- although Nikki herself hasn't always been open to that! Also, there's a risk that pushing Nikki too hard could backfire!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Maggie! Yeah, Sandy is definitely owning her power now. What do you think her theme song should be getting out of that limo? Hehe. Nikki's path is going to look very different...but maybe with Sandy's help, she'll get through it a bit easier...

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Hel! Sandy is finally getting a taste of the freedom and joy she’s been denied for so long. But, yeah, she's walking into a minefield!

Emory Ahlberg

Good points well made ckaraya, I agree with a lot of what you have written. I think these complexities you identified make Nikki’s story of feminisation more enjoyable and interesting to observe.

Gemma

I just thought of an even better twisty plot. Imagine if Davis tries to take out his frustration on Nikki - after all, he WAS to be Nikki's "handler" until Jill did the swap. So - he's pissed about Kendra, he knows Nikki isn't meeting expectations and Hutchison is becoming impatient, so being a little angry and a lot impulsive, he decides that HE will take matters into his own hands. Nikki is in for a little roughness, until Hutchison gets angry - where is his son's "girlfriend". Xu determines that Davis acted impulsively, returns Nikki (a little worse for wear), and Davis gets "the treatment". Full bore, merciless, brutal treatment. Meanwhile, Sandy has to comfort Nikki from trauma, and help her become the best woman she can be. Hutchison's threat is still there, but he backs off a bit because of what Davis did. Sandy has even MORE work cut out for her now.

Elrod W

I still think Nikki has a long way to go to accept his change, we have seen him constantly take one step forward and two or three steps back. I believe this because, unlike Sandy and Jill, he has something to lose, he was a successful kid (star QB of his high school, the pride -twisted- of his father), with a bright future towards the NFL, and although we have seen that because of his father's demands and because of the bullying he suffered to a lesser extent in his childhood, he changed his way of being, from being a sensitive and caring kid to being an egomaniacal and selfish kid, Nick Palmer was happy and comfortable being a boy. I say in contrast to Sandy and Jill, because these two, being boys, were going through life aimlessly, straight to failure. They needed a change in their lives, and although it was not their voluntary choice, the forced feminization, even if paradoxical, gave them that change and direction in their new lives, which made their acceptance of the change less traumatic. Also, they had (and Jill still has) more time to process their changes in a -toxic- but let's say 'intimate' environment, without outside influences. In contrast, Nikki was thrown to the wolves relatively quickly (he spent at most 1 year in Clinic 12), so the fear of the outside or real world, his former friends, family, society, his loss of status, humiliations, the constant threat of Hutchinson to both him and his father, etc. make the change and acceptance of his new life more difficult for him. His head is much further behind his body in the change, and only with the 'stick' = threats from Hutchinson and Xu; and the 'carrot' = support from Sandy, Mom, Lauren, Evie, Jennifer and Zach, will he get his brain in sync with his body. Plus, let's not forget, he's been home from Clinic 12 for what, 2 months? As I said at the beginning, I think she still has a long way to go and realize that her changes are already irreversible (bull eggs through,😂) and that she has no choice but to learn to accept herself as a woman and discover that being a woman, even if it is not her desire, is the only way she has to be a happy person in her future life. PS: Emory, what are the approximate ages of Karen, Mrs. Ferris, Nikki's mother, and Davis and Xu?

ckarya

Thanks sapiens1559 it as nice and interesting to hear your perspective

Gemma

The best part of this process is slowly succumbing to this new experience even involuntarily. It’s like being on a diet and not being able to resist a chocolate bar; you eat it with guilt but also with pleasure. I want that for Nikki.

sapiens1559

I think Sandy will have little time for this task. To me, Nikki is closer to acceptance than it seems; if she makes the right move...jackpot.

sapiens1559

NGL, I'm sorta curious what Xu's more extreme methods would be. But I have a feeling Sandy will break through.

Thomas Tolliver

I think Nikki Will accept her feminine future , her shield is broken slowly but eventually will sucumb , looking forward how her mental transformation Will occur it Will be delicious 🤭

Digi2288

Just wanted to give a call out to you Emory and thank you for all the creative little details I, often only later, find in in your well crafted beautiful images. Of note, just now, I noticed the subtle detail of Kendra’s image and her pretty (unintentional by her I suspect) cute feminine pose in the background of the last image (22) in this chapter.

Gemma

Also that makes me think, Nikki definitely needs that voice spray that Jill got she will be too tempted to speak in her man voice otherwise

Jay

Sandy's expression as Kendra answers the door and she peers at the new maid over her sunglasses is just too perfect. You are so good at facial expressions Emory! Another absolute banger episode.

Jade Diaz

Davis's own assessment as to his own indispensability in Second Dawn may be a touch overblown.

Jade Diaz

Alex, I promise you, no one understands that reference you keep making to Lutze.

Jade Diaz

Emory, I was pleased and intrigued by the way you provided all the rationale around why and how to recruit Mrs Ferris, and later I suspect Sandy, into becoming co conspirators in the fast tracking of the feminisation of Nikki. The underlying motivation of safeguarding Nikki’s psychological and physical would, in particular be so important for Sandy. Also given Sandy’s fully embracing and love of being a female I’m sure she would also feel Nikki does not know what she is missing and denying herself. I know it’s early days but I was surprised by the low key dynamics being played out by and between Mrs Ferris and her former husband Kendra. In relation to Mrs Ferris, I understand, for her deceased daughter Sofia’s sake, having compassion for Kendra and saving her from Davis she felt compelled to do. However, the punishment of making Kendra her maid seems to be very light. In particular, remembering back to Mrs Ferris’s nature, how it was not so long ago she took such great pleasure in humiliating Sandy as she forcefully feminised her. The things she enforced upon Sandy, the taunting, the teasing, embarrassing her by making her wear a revealing feminine outfits. The tine at swimming pool and the costume she was made wear. How she loved emphasising to and reminding Sandy of her lost manhood and how she now fitted more in with the rest of the girls. As for Ken/ Kendra, I recognise her submissive obedience to ‘being Mrs Ferris’s maid,’ but, I wonder, however, about what happened to that deep seated hyper macho misogyny that would still lie in her psyche. On the surface she would appear to be ‘going along’ with things but what are her true underlying thoughts and feelings. All I can put forth is the possibility that Nr Xu, may by accident have stumbled on and uncovered a new algorithm and protocol that has successfully brought around a shift in the psyche of former men previously categorised as ‘toys.’ Maybe, after submitting one of these toys to the unrelenting, ongoing sadist cruelty through the treatment delved out by Davis, and then providing salvation to them from this fate (Mrs Ferris for example) that this is transformational in shifting their former male psyche. Thus explaining why the hyper macho misogynistic male Ken, acquiesces as Kendra, and currently appears to have so easily become compliant, accepting and embracing of her new female status?!. I know it’s early days but I am curious about what is happening to Kendra and how this will play out in her new relationship with Mrs Ferris? I too would love to have seen ‘flash backs’ of Kendra’s earlier times and experiences as Davis’s wife.

Gemma

Cant wait to see what happens to Nikki would love to see her pushed more into a feminine role and her reactions to all that

Jay

Great chapter, really enjoyed it. Cliffhanger left me wanting more!

Joe 13 Foxtrot

Oo i really like Davis such a good character. He really, always have the good word to elevate the ambiance in a room.😂 But I 'm kind of desapointed by his relation with M. Xu i though they were good camarades. I hope next chapter we returns with nicky i want to know what happen with the sherif's adjoint.

Nolwenn

Just what I was waiting for - Sandy getting personally involved in Nikki's changes. The threat is real - Nikki needs to understand, and somehow Sandy has to break through Nikki's shell of denial, to get her to accept her new reality the same way Sandy has. This is going to be a bumpy ride. And - what kind of role with Nikki's supposed 'boyfriend' play? He's none too happy with Nikki, obviously. Suppose Nikki isn't adapting as per expectations. Suppose a 'team' comes to take Nikki. Only Zack pulls a switcheroo - dressing in drag and the unknowing team kidnaps HIM and he ends up getting what he ultimately wants, as hinted when he told Nikki they feminized the wrong person. Hutchison would go nuts - and maybe go too far - ending up like Ken, before it's noticed, he gets a huge dose of the girly hormones. And even more delicious of a twist - he gets Davis as a handler? Oooh, I can just imagine how many plot twists that would open! Keep up the great work! This is getting fun! (And as usual, job extremely well done)

Elrod W

How many times are you going to tease us with sandy and Josh!!! I get so excited thinking this is it finally going to see her accept her new role in the world and then nothing again… also same with Kendra. (My new favorite character) are we not going to get to see her living out her punishment with Davis?!?! She was forced to transition and get married to a man and we don’t get to see her living it that roll, maybe consummating the marriage/ or on the honeymoon? Feel like I’m missing out on best parts of the story and I’m only getting the filler…. Still by far my favorite story on Patreon though!

Harley Allen

Davis, you sick sadist. Are you being Ramsay Bolton with Kendra???? Davis, what have you done in 2014?👿👿👿👿👿👿👿 My dearest Emory, once more a brilliant display of incandescent brilliance. I hope you can see why Summer Chastity Crowe, Ryan and the rest of The Hatchlings refer to him as Captain Lutze or Colonel Eichhorst. My final thought is this...that I never would've imagined Second Dawn to fall as a result of a second-in-command being too full of himself.

Alex From the Tri-Cities

Sandy has certainly found the sheer joy and vibrancy womanhood has to offer, and she appears primed and ready to share her revelation with Nikki. Assuming she agrees to help Nikki see the light as well, will she be able nudge her half-sister in the direction Xu and Hutchinson want? And what if Sandy fails and Nikki is destined to return to Clinic 12 for "reconditioning?" What might await her on the island after the dust settles from all the upheaval going on there right now? Will Clinic 12 be run by the likes of Davis and his ilk, or will it take on a different philosophy heavily influenced by Jill in whatever role she might assume post-chaos? More than Sandy (or anyone else other than mom, perhaps), I have a feeling that Jill could convince Nikki to accept then revel in life as a woman. And what about Josh?... can Sandy make Josh overcome his hesitation to fully accept her as the woman she now relishes being? Sandy definitely has her work cut out for her ahead.

Tim

Incredible art and storytelling as always. Your creations are a constant delight. Thank you. ❤

Bobbie

It's interesting that Sandy will probably become to Nikki something like Holly was to Jill. This will be nice to watch, I think. And I love Kendra’s new role!

Ella Cherry

OMG SANDYYYYYYYY ❣️❣️❣️❣️ Queen has come and if you're not bowing yet that means you have some spine issues... OMFG... same kind and amount of energy is beaming from you like from Jill... to me you both are equally powerful Goddesses... Nikki you should start taking some notes... start to learn girl, PLEASE I BEG YOU ❣️❣️❣️

Maggie Heels

Sandy really is just living her best life. Love to see it. What a time for her to take a two week vacation though lol. So many things have happened.
