Half Sisters - Episode 52

Reunions aren't always happy, and they're always complicated.

Okay! I'm very happy with these 24 new pages in Episode 52 of Half Sisters.

I don't want to say too much since there's a few twists and turns in this episode (believe it or not 😉) but I can't wait to hear your thoughts!

There will be a story poll posted following this episode - I bet you'll be able to figure out what it is.... 😊

EDIT: Updated dialogue on Panel 19 that was missing!

Comments

the story just keeps unraveling and xu always tends to be the one to throw a wrench in everything really leans into his character design and it’s really interesting

Nina

Thank you so much, Sara! I'm loving Sandy's evolution as well. And from the latest episode, it seems like Sandy may well be put into a position of helping Nikki adjust to her new femininity!

Emory Ahlberg

Em you keep outdoing yourself. I love how openly queer Sandy is becoming. I would love it if this nudged Nikki down a similar and more completely gay path… would be pretty tasty to see the former alpha male recognise his former machismo as a form of denial of an insatiable desire for men’s cocks heheheeeee… a girl can dream 😘

Sara Dune Tone

Wow, CK, you predicted the poll! That's how I know I've done a good job with the narrative. 😊 Which one did you choose? Obviously, Xu really enjoys putting people into moral quandaries and watching them squirm. He is amoral himself (he would say), so seeing others bend themselves into knots to try to justify their actions is amusing. We'll see if Mrs Ferris plays his game!

Emory Ahlberg

Xu, once again proving to be a very smart guy, completely disarms Ms. Ferris and her feeble excuses and exposes her to the stark reality - she (Xu comes to prove to her), albeit on a different scale, with her actions and inactions regarding Scott and his Ex, is as much of a monster as her Ex was and as Xu himself is. Will these words resonate with Ms. Ferris enough to make her reconsider the deal? Tough choice, Xu is a genius in his own evil way, if due to feeling guilty about Xu's words, Ms. Ferris decides to save Kendra from her punishment and tormentor, she has a diabolical dilemma to solve: Not to help Kendra and let her continue as Davis' wife -> she will become a monster. Bitter taste. Help Kendra = Help Hutchinson -> Monster. Bittersweet to bitter taste. Help Kendra = Help Hutchinson, but conspire with Sandy to help Nikki -> Redemption. Sweet taste... but endangers Sandy, Nikki, Kendra... and most likely herself. Great job Emory! PS: I made this comment before reading the poll.

ckarya

I think Jessica will be okay, especially once Sandy comes out as a proud trans girl... just like her best friend, Sophia (who according to Jassica really, REALLY liked men) had been.

Tim

These last few chapters with Sandy have been really sweet. I love that she finally found herself, even if it wasn’t in the best circumstances. I do wonder how this will go with Jessica. If she does eventually find out the full truth and a way to accept this is what Sandy wants, and also what both want for their relationship. I mean, the person who first sees you as trans and idolises you isn’t 100% the person you wanna stick to, from personal experience, but I do see if Josh is her OTP. They suit each other. We’ll see how it goes. I trust you have an idea for these characters and it’s a joy seeing things play out.

Max

Interesting take, Gemma! Sandy's navigating a minefield of emotions, and you're spot-on about those layers of nostalgia and lost experiences from her old life. With Josh, that plays out in two ways: his maleness and their shared history.

Emory Ahlberg

LMAO - I wonder if Davis will be as "brave" as Lando and betray him... Somehow I doubt he'd be as lucky.

Emory Ahlberg

Robert, thank you! Yeah, Kendra's appearance is striking. Xu has the best hormones AND the best surgeons! Sandy and Josh’s relationship continues to evolve, and you're right, Josh's expression in that final frame is intentionally ambiguous. Is he worried about Sandy down in Texas? Or is it something else... The meeting between Xu and Mrs. Ferris was a crucial scene for me. I wanted to push Mrs. Ferris to her moral limits while showcasing Xu’s manipulative prowess. Hutchinson is an important member of Xu's business inner circle (not just in Second Dawn)... and he's disappointed in the "product" he received.

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Richard! Kendra stepping into the maid role could definitely fill that gap Sandy left behind - although maybe it'll be Mortimer teaching her to be a proper lady! Davis being disappointed is inevitable. Unfortunately, Connor / Connie was allegedly already sold to somebody he pissed off in the Middle East, but maybe he'll "find" someone new... although I hope not! Hutchinson's complaints about Nikki is a ticking time bomb. He knows she's not putting in as much effort as he wants. Or, more to the point, what he paid for!

Emory Ahlberg

LOL - I couldn't have said it better myself, Jen. Thank you! 💖

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Ella! I agree Sandy is brave... I just hope she realizes what this will mean for her starting her first year of college! Are you on team "Keep Kendra" or team "Kick Kendra?" lol

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback, Gemma! I'm glad you appreciated the development of Sandy and Josh's relationship. It's such a complex dynamic, especially considering their history and the drastic changes Sandy has undergone. I love playing with the contrasts between Josh's masculinity and Sandy's femininity - which is growing. Sandy's acceptance of her new gender is multifaceted. Her attraction to Josh does have elements of vicariously connecting with the masculinity she once had, but it also goes deeper into her discovering new aspects of herself. Kendra's character will certainly be explored further - if she stays. If the readers dismiss her, we'll probably never see her again. But maybe that's what she deserves!

Emory Ahlberg

Wow! Thank you for noticing, Fraylim! We'll see if his wife grants him a reprieve this time...

Emory Ahlberg

That would be a really interesting direction for the drama, Nolwenn - and totally legitimate! Mrs Ferris doesn't really want anything to do with Second Dawn, so throwing Xu's "offer" back in his face would make total sense. Hutchinson feels like he isn't getting what he paid for with Nikki... And he's absolutely right!

Emory Ahlberg

Thanks, Jade! I always love writing Xu's dialogue. He's a monster, but he definitely has a point of view. And he has a keen insight of what makes people tick. LOL, honestly love that idea for a one-shot. Especially since Mortimer would DEFINITELY be making Kendra's life as hard as possible...

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Bobbie! 💖 Kendra did horrible things in her past, both to other young men and to his own daughter. If anybody doesn't deserve mercy, I'd say it's him... But we'll see what the poll reveals!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Tim! 💖 I really loved Sandy and Josh's dialogue here and I believe her choice to embrace her WHOLE self - past, present, and future - will have big repercussions for her experience back in Texas. Nikki will be desperate to remain as "invisible" as possible, while Sandy desires to be out and proud (as well she should be). The Xu / Ferris dialogue was fun for a whole different reason. Frankly, I always enjoy writing Xu verbally sparring with anybody. He is a monster, of course, but he's more philosophical than most!

Emory Ahlberg

LOL! Okay, describing Nikki as a "non-Newtonian liquid" is soooo perfect, Maggie! 💖I love it.

Emory Ahlberg

But you'll get to vote on the resolution, Maggie! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Describing Xu as "almost human" is pretty fitting, I'd say. 😉 Xu may be referring to Hutchinson's forced 'masculinization' of his son, Zach... or maybe something even more sinister we haven't learned yet!

Emory Ahlberg

What do you think, Thomas? Should Mrs Ferris take the deal? She did promise Sandy there would be no more lies or secrets between them.

Emory Ahlberg

Robert! I'm dying to know who you think it could be. 👀

Emory Ahlberg

After rereading this chapter and reviewing the previous five, I think I’m pretty certain who shot Xu, but my lips are sealed. 😈

Robertlouis

Wha!? There are 28 comments, Robert - including yours which I cannot wait to respond to tomorrow! 😊

Emory Ahlberg

Another thought I have had Emory in relation to the most recent sexual encounter between Sandy and Josh. In relation to her desire to ‘attend to Josh.’ I wonder if one of her unconscious motives could be a nostalgic reconnection with witnessing a pleasure and experience that she is no longer capable of undertaking herself. Of course also recognising that Sandy is also creating some meaningful use of an old skill that she had previously acquired over many years. I suggest the above insights (shared also in previous comments) in relation to a number of Sandy’s interaction and connection to Josh. Whilst not denying her attraction to him I also wonder if he may also provide for her a way of accessing a masculinity and maleness that she no longer possesses?

Gemma

Davis: "This wasn't our agreement!" Xu: "I am altering the terms of our bargain. Pray I don't alter it further!"

Elrod W

I can only see four comments??

Robertlouis

Almost too much to unpack in this episode. Let’s get the shallow things out of the way first: Kendra is stunning. Then to the more important stuff. Sandy and Josh continue to be very sweet indeed, although there’s a slightly disconcerting final frame in which Josh’s expression might hint at something dark. Then on to the meat of it, the Xu meeting with Mrs Ferris, the hapless Kendra thrown in as a pawn, Davis’ impotent fury as he realises that all his loyalty to Xu counts for nothing, and Xu’s testing of Mrs Ferris’s morality to its absolute limits. Brilliant scene, Emory. And rolling in Nikki and her father to tighten the emotional screw is the genius finish.

Robertlouis

So many things to say. Firstly, womanhood might not be a punishment to Ms Ferris, but servitude sure is, and she's short a maid. Davis doesn't strike me as a man that does his own housework, so I'm sure Kendra is well suited to the role by now. And Ms. Ferris can teach her to be a proper young lady as well, so win-win really. Davis will be disappointed, but I feel like he'd be happy to be compensated with ownership of the army guy-turned-girl that was trying to help Jill. Control over someone that formerly masculine seems to be what he really enjoys. And lastly, if the events line up right, Hutchinson issues complaints and threats about Nikki's progress, and next time he sees her, she'll be dressed like the next Miss Texas for a date with his son. Sounds like he could learn the wrong lessons from this. Guess we'll have to wait and see what they are and what comes of it.

Richard Head

Reading your stories is like "Come for the pretty forced feminized girls stay for the moral quandaries!" And I love it lol

Jennifer

Fantastic chapter! Sandy is so brave; I envy her. The second part has such interesting and complex discussions. It made me think for sure. And then, the end: a surprising and exciting proposal. Yeah, I love it!

Ella Cherry

Great chapter Emory. You leave us all with more questions and wonderings than answers. So much to unpack. The gentle beginning - With the further development of the love story between Sandy and Josh. The ongoing clarification and comfort within their developing relationship, gender roles within their and mutual attraction an love for each other becoming more defined. I love the numerous beautiful intimate I mages of Josh and Sandy together highlighting the contrasts between the masculine muscular Josh from the feminine Sandy. His large hands caressing her small face and next to her small feminine hands. The images on pages 8/9 rear and frontal view of them sitting on the bed highlighting the contrast between this beautiful couple. I love Sandy cheeky reference to a skill from her past she has drawn upon to ‘satisfy her man.’ I am intrigued by her acceptance of her new gender and different aspects of her attraction to Josh. Her physical attraction to his muscular body seems, in part to be just that, attraction, however, I also wonder about another part of her that experiences and is drawn ‘vicariously’ to Josh to once again access and connect with the muscular masculinity that he possesses that is no longer available to her. Also, the part of her that of course is also drawn to Josh’s and willingness and her for ‘her prince’ to protect her now. The second part of the chapter brings us into the duplicitous world, games and relationship dynamics being played out between Mr Xu snd Mrs Ferris. I like the way he challenges Mrs Ferris assessment of herself and ‘ how different’ she is from him. He makes some good points as it was not until recently that Mrs Ferris showed some compassion. Although Sandy is now embracing her femininity she did not give her very much choice. It will be interesting to see if Mrs Ferris will be recruited into Mr Xu’s strategy to fast track Nikki’s feminisation. It also will be interesting to see how she (if this happens) in turn how she recruits Sandy into helping her achieve this? Lastly, I am looking forward to hearing more from Kendra. Kendra looks so pretty and and feminine, and so far removed from the man she once was. It will be interesting and exciting observing the changed dynamics within the relationship between Mrs Ferris and her former husband. Great chapter againEmory. I am looking forward to reading it again and I am sure pick up on other subtle nuances in body the images and the story.

Gemma

Great call back to the image of Ken on his knees pleading for mercy in Ep 40 and Kendra doing the same in the cliffhanger. Chef's kiss.

Fraylim

I'm kind of sadistic, but i really want to see what will Zach's father be able to do to Nicky. ( i kind of hope it's the father who will suffer the consequence) So leave kendra alone with her awsome manly husband😁

Nolwenn

Well, well. I’m glad Xu called Mrs Ferris on her high minded bullshit, truthfully. He’s still a psychopath but he definitely has a clear vision of what motivates people. As for Kendra, can you imagine a whole series of one shot stories “Kendra and Morti” - they have sitcom hijinks while maintaining Mrs. Ferris’s Boston home. For example, the Big River company delivers an embarrassing assortment of sex toys Sandy carelessly ordered and forgot to change her delivery address and now they need to return them together.

Like John & Helen Smith in TMITHC-universe, my Dr. Delilah Crowe©™; the Platinum Star mother of Sylvester Charlton/Summer Chastity Crowe©™; is haunted by her sins, especially the sin of not helping Holly's father in the raid to save Holly; pulling a Kendra of her own...ahead of parts 38 & 40...with her and her sisters' cheating husbands; and allowing Holly and Gina to acquire Summer when Summer started asking too many questions and Summer's uncles realized Second Dawn's use of the I.O.R/Vatican bank in money laundering. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV7n58r5IWc Sylvester Charlton Crowe©™: "-Please mommy...don't let them take me. I didn't me to pry and be too curious, mama. Please...I'm your son. Mama, please...I have always and will always love you." Delilah's russet brown eyes showed not a hint of maternal love or a drop of tears, but a cold icy look of disappointment as the anesthetic gun hissed and delivered its load in the boy's bloodstream. Holly saw the pitiless look, like looking into an empty abyss. "-I told him to mind his own business even bought a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Estate Wagon for him to work on and modify to keep him busy. Holly, do tell your boss Mr. Xu that I expect to be well compensated for my troubles and if..."Attrition" I believe is the word is, occurs...I expect compensation for the resale of the organs or spare parts, if you will. This will include constant milking and using the sperm for artificial inseminations. When the orchiectomy is performed, I expect a general paralytic, not an anesthetic. I want her to feel every cutting, pulling and stitching. Waste not, want not, miss Monroe, are we clear? And do give sweet Elizabeth Hatcher a kiss on my behalf, won't you?" She said in a voice that reminded Holly and Gina of the monstrous Roose Bolton, soft, clear, feminine but utterly pitiless as she offered Holly her hand. It felt like a steel vise and she would've broken every bone in Holly's hand had she chosen to. Hard like stone, cold as ice. And every single word uttered was a complete lie, for Delilah and her sisters Danica, Darla and Delia had been plotting the downfall of Xu and Second Dawn ever since Xu approached her at Arlington Cemetery and handed her an autographed copy of "Saving Private Ryan" along with both warning to not join whatever crazy rescue scheme Thomas Monroe has and an invitation to join Xu and have boundless disposable and portable wealth at her disposal. "-Poor James Ryan, lost all three brothers. How many will you lose, my dearest Delilah? I need you, yours and your sisters' skills working for me. Greatness beckons." Delilah nodded, thinking she could better working to undermine Xu from the inside. "If I show any hint of mercy, pity, hesitation, warmth, love, I am dead, Sylvester is dead, my other sons are dead, my daughters are dead, my sisters, parents, uncles, aunts, my brothers, nieces and nephews are dead. The entire family will be dead." Delilah thought in the silent safety of her mind palace as her flashback ended. So she showed not a single thing, her supreme mastery of Taqiyya and Ketman impressing even her. Holly and Gina nodded as they packed the unconscious Sylvester and left the palatial Eldermount Ranch (Ahl Berg in the Old Norse tongue), just outside Emory, Texas. She seemed to make Kaschak and Davis seem almost normal and well-adjusted model citizens. Holly let a tear drop as she caressed the young man's sleeping face. Back at Eldermount, Delilah sat on the stone patio in front of the enormous pool and she began to cry, a wail of agony and boundless despair as she cried out and implored Heaven for forgiveness. A pair of arms in purple and scarlet appeared and gently lifted her on a thickly cushioned chair. Her older brothers, Archbishop Ralph Rory Crowe©™ and Royce Roland Cardinal Crowe©™. "-Delilah, what happened? What have you done?" her eldest brother, the Cardinal asked, as he gently dried her tears and make up which was starting to run. Delilah kissed his ring as she quickly regained her composure and in-charge demeanor: "-A pawn's sacrifice, like chess, my dearest brothers, which will lead to a smothered checkmate. In Game of Thrones, Randyll Tarly did the same thing for the good his family and bloodline." Delilah said as the archbishop slapped her hard across the face twice, realizing the weight of her words. "-Sweet, innocent, guileless Sylvester, that angelic little fur ball. Please tell me you didn't, Delilah. Not to those swine...demons, monsters. You own flesh and blood. The fruit of your womb." his voice seemed to be breaking. "-And what an angelic fur ball he was, Rory. Dreams of Pulitzer Prize and being Clark Kent with a Southern accent and penchant for his sisters' dresses. I tried warning him and you two as well, Ralphie, what would happen. It isn't my fault he didn't listen. He really thought because he manage to get his little Vienna sausage in Vienna Della Neri's mouth...and other orifices...that he would be bringing down the most powerful and wealthy group of men on his own, to impress sweet Vienna Della Neri into marrying him. He was smart but alas for him, not very wise." Delilah said chuckling with a malevolent laughter at the thought before turning to her oldest brother, the Cardinal. "-Nor did you two. By all means clean up corruption at the Vatican Bank, but I told you both...specifically...to leave that account alone. It's the account Second Dawn uses to pay for the...silence and acquiesce...of the law enforcement and other such quislings and lackeys. I told the same to your mentor and predecessor, Cardinal Vittorio Vespini©™, I implored him to be quiet. Trust in me and our sisters' plan, my brothers. He too ignored us and his nephews paid for that as well." Delilah said as Cardinal Royce Roland Crowe©™ followed his brother's actions and slapped her across each cheek, this time arousing her full rage as she pulled out a pair of Damascus Bowie knives out of her expensive rattlesnake skin cowboy boots. A gift from Mr. Zhang Yong Xu, with one blade's pommel an eagle's head and the other a crow's. Both brothers saw the Arabic script inscription and knew full well those words engraved there. Xu did have a monstrous sense of gallows humor if nothing else. "-A child is a pearl, a diamond, a gift from God. You have profaned your honor, defiled your loyalty and desecrated motherhood. No plan is worth this. And to compare him with a mere chess pawn." Cardinal Royce Crowe said, voice breaking as they turned their back on their sister. Hours later, Delilah and her sisters Darla, Delia and Danica still found them praying in the crypt chapel of Eldermount Ranch and they knelt besides them, begging God's forgiveness in perfect Latin. "-Mr. Davis just called. Sylvester is safely at Clinic 12 and he'll wake up next to Patrizia©™ and Fabrizia Vespini©™. My other two pairs of eyes inside Clinic 12. I need you to rejoin me in my fight, my brothers and sisters. Together we'll bring down not just Second Dawn, but all their enablers. After all mother and father taught us it's the attention to detail, pride of craftsmanship that separates Rolls Royce from the Trabant. Are you with me?" Delilah asked. "-Always and forever, my sister. In life and in death." Danica, the blonde one said. "-I'm in, Delilah." Darla said, caressing her eldest quadruplet sister's face. "-Count on me, sister dearest." Delia said as they turned to their older...and oldest brother. "-I believe I'm with you, and Cardinal Vespini should be invited as well for Sylvester's funeral and the funeral feast as well, Delilah." the Cardinal said as Delilah nodded her head. "-Brother, sisters, we must hang together otherwise we will be surely hanged separately...or worse." archbishop Crowe said as they placed their hands together on the Bible and swore to bring down Second Dawn.

Alex From the Tri-Cities

Truly exceptional. My congratulations Emory. ❤ I say leave Kendra to Davis.

Bobbie

So many threads here... so many stories to weave: Sandy & Josh, of course, embracing their future on this most life-altering night together; then Mrs. Ferris & Mr. Xu, in classic yin-yang roles, discussing/determining the futures of not just Kendra, but Sandy and Nikki and Hutchinson (both father and son, perhaps) and Davis... and did Mr. Xu make an allusion to Jill in panel 21? This episode will be one to bookmark.

Tim

OKAY sooo Kendra is way too beautiful to be written off... Scott is no longer performing his maids duty... (as long time ago in Maid for Life series) time for Kendra to pop in, in sexy maid outfit... it still will be far less cruel than being Davis wife... aaaand mr Hutchinson further known as fuckface and mr Xu fucked up visionary... Nikki is like non-Newtonian liquid... if you punch her harder she will resist harder... Sandy is already willingly (not being forced into) helping her you fucking morons... it's taking time and cannot be speed up...

THAT CLIFFHANGER OMFG !!!!!!!!

My dearest muse Emory🥰😍. How I have waited for this and you do not fail to reach new heights of plot, narrative, dialogue flow and twist. If I didn't know any better, you're showing me a different side of Xu that makes him look...almost human, I daresay. And you've made my soul leap for joy and me do back flips watching Davis pop a gasket...then right angry again when he mentions a human being as part of his "compensation package?" Euphemisms to mask his sociopathy and sadism what he truly is which is why Summer Chastity Crowe calls him Captain Lutze. But you do manage to scare me a lot and leave me hanging when you mention the equally loathsome Mr. Hutchinson. What did Xu mean by disappointments and what does Xu mean by useless men? Ryan was a history teacher with no record of violence, sexual or otherwise against women, hardly useless. Jill was the son of a multibillionaire worth $ 10 billion. Do they get chosen by Second Dawn psychiatrists...or now their new algorithm...before Holly is sent to "acquire" them?

Alex From the Tri-Cities

Did I miss the conversion of Kendra? If so, could you reference where I can see it in the story? Or is that yet to come.

Phil G1

Oh my!

Thomas Tolliver

What is Zach's dad up to, the bastard And also I want her to take in Kendra just to spite Davis? If that makes sense? Guy doesn't deserve anything.
