Thank you, Thomas! Yeah, Nikki's girly side will develop slowly... But there are other uniforms you might end up seeing her wearing instead! Oh, and it was really fun to bring Jill into the story as Nikki's 'subconscious.' That shows that Nikki is actually smarter than she acts sometimes! 🤣

How it all comes together from tough boy railing in anger 'I'll never be a girl!' because he's SO sure. To months later changing at a subconscious level. Freudian anxieties developing, not always easily into that basic truth. That he's a girl. More and more everyday! A boyfriend getting closer in the timeline... there's no shame in that. A cheerleader starting to get a crush on one of the players. I love the anxiety of that, shown through this dream.

When Nikki first wakes up she's stuck in her feminine voice for a moment and immediately writes to Scott, seeking out someone who can relate to his struggles...but she's definitely nervous and anxious for her friend! Her emotions are becoming more active for sure.

Nick/Nikki's journey is absolutely about realizing that strength comes from within and isn't determined by our outward appearance or societal expectations. It's a revelation that is far from easy to accept, especially for someone in Nick's situation. But I'm hopeful that this dream/nightmare experience is a significant turning point for Nikki's self-discovery and acceptance. As for Sandy... your words made me giggle! I'm glad to hear she's finally won you over. We all have our favorites, but it's always gratifying when a character grows on you in unexpected ways. But you're right that this Jill is a subconscious manifestation, projecting Nikki's own fears, insecurities, and potential for change onto a familiar face. She views Jill as someone who was forced to go through a traumatic change, just like her. She represents both the fear of losing her masculinity and the possibility of embracing her femininity. The scars are a reminder of the pain Nick associates with change. But you're also right that she embodies his inner female voice. So, basically, you hit the nail on the head!

You have done it again! The images you have created, the subtle and clever way they slowly develop snd shift and Nikki becomes more feminine and pretty as her dreams continues is so creative, movie like amazing. I also enjoy, love and still find it amusing the way you show Nikki’s ongoing defiance and denial of the obvious. The way she still refers to and perceives her breasts as being ‘flabby’ rather than conceding and acknowledging them for what they are, an attribute and feature that so clearly defines her current female status. I also love your the way you undertook the seque to reintroduce Sandy and a focus her ongoing story. Thanks Emory. I’m sure I will be continue to unpack and further look at these images and the themes of this chapter, such psychological depth, and with all of the planting of subtle seeds change being put in place. I will look forward over the next few days to revisiting your wonderful work. 🙏

What their dialogue is coming to say is that there is nothing wrong with being a kinder, gentler, more sensitive and caring person like he was before his forced feminization and putting himself in "his father's hands", and that having such attributes does not make you a weak person, on the contrary, that being confident in who you are yourself and loving yourself for who you are and taking control of your life without depending on the approval of others is what truly makes you strong...regardless of the wrapper you "inhabit". I think this dialogue is a very significant breakthrough for Nikki. I think she has realized that she was fighting the wrong battle, one that she has lost (her feminization), but that there are other, more important battles to fight (taking control of her life), with which she will succeed in winning the War. Sandy... wow! until page 21 of episode 36 of Halfsister season 2, she physically (I mean mainly her face), was not one of my favorites, from that milestone, she enters directly in my top 3, what a beauty! 😍
