This episode was a technical challenge, but also incredibly rewarding to write / create. I had a blast delving deeper into Nikki and Zach's burgeoning relationship. I particularly enjoyed writing Zach's character and exploring his complexities. Do you think they'll become friends? Something else? 😉

Yeah, poor Nikki and Zach are definitely connected by their shitty dads. 😟 Nikki's character arc this season is really important to her overall journey. She has a lot of growing to do! (hopefully)

I mean, he was warned by both Clarissa and his own transgender friend what the Second Dawn was and he still stuck with them. Not as monstrously amoral and odious as Mr. Xu, Mr. Davis, Holly's uncle, Kaschak and Hutch, but still worthy of punishment. It really puts things into perspective a bit more. I wasn’t a huge fan of him originally but seeing that he’s going through a similar captive situation i’ve reassessed i genuinely can’t wait for nikki to go back to live with her mom when she finally realizes her dad is a piece of shit >:( I hope zach gets a really sweet boyfriend and nikki embraces whatever she can

But who is to say that Zach can't change psychologically and emotionally to switch preferences. He is a Nikki in reverse and I'm sure we are expecting Nick to finally embrace his femininity so by the same token it may be possible Zach could embrace his masculinity. Who knows, Zach and Nikki may become such good friends they may end up liking each other as their current genders. Personally I'd really like these two to end up together. I'm a bit of a romantic I guess.

As I said in past episodes, these two are "doomed" to understand each other and join forces... as FRIENDS! hehehe. Even though Nikki is a big head and I guess it will still take her a while to get to that point, Zach is going to help her open her eyes regarding the situation at hand, he will make her realize that not only her father (Zach) is a bastard, but her own (Nikki) is besides a bastard, a miserable coward. And I think Nikki in her own way, will help Zach get out of the chains his own father has him locked in. Great job!
