Phew! A long episode – 23 pages – but I had so much fun with Jill and Adele. They're similar in some ways, but Adele has had an even rougher experience than Jill. Hopefully this isn't the last time they get to enjoy each other's company. 😊

It would show the extreme and invasiveness of his control if he took things to that level. However, we've only seen him impose this on those who have broken his trust. Hm...

His persuasive rhetoric highlights uncomfortable philosophical questions, I hope. He sees himself as "evolved" but lacks basic human empathy. Jill is already facing impossible choices stemming from Xu's manipulation. Ane more are coming! Xu believes he's helping her grow... or at least, that's what he claims. In a way, he's almost certainly right. Jack would not be making the decisions that Jill has!

Despite all the suffering inflicted upon her, she retains her capacity for selflessness and doing what's right. A capacity she didn't really have (or at least cultivate) as a man). Jill's story is one of holding onto humanity in dehumanizing circumstances... I hope. 😊

Jill has been profoundly changed against her will, and she wouldn't agree that those changes are ALL purely for the better. So far, her inner experiences are her own, not defined by Xu's arrogant claims about her. She's staying strong... for now. 😊

She has somehow maintained her humanity even after all that's been taken from her. Kaschak, meanwhile, represents warped darkness and obsession. His pride, cruelty, lust, and gluttony for power and control over others defines his revolting character. He is a manifestation of twisted sin and abuse. I hate him! And I'm happy my work could inspire you to further develop your skills. With practice, you'll be mastering those programs in no time. Keep at it and keep creating! 😊

You’re so good at your art emory :D i swear these are real people at this point and not just renders oooh a love sorry would be sweet! our girl needs someone kind in her life :( gosh, from the previous upload, i coulda sworn this was gonna go in a different direction. i couldn’t have predicted that jill would be using the drone to save her new found lover!! so cute! Morbidly, Xu brings up a genuine philosophical question. it’s almost as bad as the trolley problem. xu is annoyingly interesting. like why can’t i just hate this guy, he’s still an awful person for doing this to people against there will but god damn is he good at talking. Are you part fae emory? If you can write a character like this, surely you have a silver tongue! I can’t wait to see how this competition goes. I have no doubt jill will win (still interested to see how the rescue attempt goes and if she’d even go for it now with a life on the line). omg i just realized while writing this she’s probably gonna refuse the rescue outright for this girl. tbf that’s a real trolley problem. omg. save a life from death or save your own from captivity. oh gosh, i see the comparison between jack and jill. Jack would’ve totally saved himself but i feel like jill would choose the other person! ahhhhhh i feel like i’ve figured it out! I also love the little nuance of thinking of herself as an entirely different person! What a wonderful story emory! you’re an absolute amazing story teller along with artist! loved this chapter :D

She told Emily that her brother is not going to be the same person once he becomes a woman and see him as a sister. She also tells her that they need to rescue Jack/Jill as soon as possible due to knowing how Xu's mind works. We saw hints of that with her being his escort to one of his resorts, but knows how to keep her strong from his manipulation. I don't think Emily would be happy if she see her sister be his right hand woman and how she lures men to become women on Xu's island.

So, he going to take advantage of Jill's development (physical and mental) to make her not just the contest winner, but the new improved Holly. Jill would probably be in a similar position as Holly and Janelle, but worse as Xu's right hand woman to lure more men to his island to make more women out of them. I don't think Adan would be happy if her freedom was bought by Jill who is close to accepting Xu offer.

2023-03-01 13:48:50 +0000 UTCIt's clear that Xu wants a new queen bee for his coven.... He wants a Holly 2.0, with more empathy, compassion and solidarity than Holly 1.0. She was very good for the first steps of his company, but he needs an evolution, a turn in his goals. I think that once he has realized that what he had in his head is possible (also from his own experience, although in reverse conversion?...), transforming sad and nondescript thistles into beautiful rose bushes, he needs a new person to give him that plus to water and nurture the new flowers properly so that the roses grow strong and slender without fear of showing themselves. And we see Jill, that between her new empathy, and Mr. Xu's manipulation, she unconsciously goes along with the idea.... ...But I think she still has a good mental struggle ahead. On the one hand, Mr. Xu's manipulation will continue, and I imagine he will do everything he can to make Jill get to know the coven, the new competitors, to keep worrying about Connor and Ryan, etc... ...And on the other hand, the appearance of the rescue group... ... And Holly (I still don't know where to place her, so I'll leave her in the middle for now). I have a theory of what the ending might be, but I'll keep it to myself yet so I don't embarrass myself in the future, hehehehe. I'll just say that I think the ending will be a mix of the two things above. Great Em, your work never ceases to amaze and delight me.

Let me just say that I did or tried to do a couple of back flips for joy knowing that my suggestion was taken seriously enough to be included in an actual part of a comic. Although in all modesty, I'd like to hope that I wasn't the only one who suggested it. I see Jill has not lost her sense of morality and maternal protection. She has more dignity and decency in that little thing between her legs than Xu and Kaschak have in their entire bodies. Kaschak is utterly revolting in body. mind and soul. The ultimate incarnation of pathological pride, cruelty/wrath, lust and gluttony. Did I leave out any other deadly sins? I thank you from the bottom of my heart, Emory, my muse. This has encouraged me to work and try even harder to master Daz3D and Photoshop.

I love how much she’s occupying the exact same space here that Holly did for her, and with the same pleasure at hoping to find another woman find her womanhood, or at least some comfort… just without the same ulterior motives. Introspective Jill, and their little heart-to-heart together, is so sweet. And then she tells a lie. Says she didn’t see a drone but a shooting star. Her first lie to another victim, I think; she tried so hard to be honest with Ryan, with Connor, with Adele. It might seem like nothing, but even Holly started somewhere, Jill… Aww, Adele is SMITTEN. Instant mood-swerve to OH NO ADELE 😭 “I know a bastard who can?” Oh my God, Jill. I hope this turns out like you wanted. Love that she just keeps shouting. “Why are you screaming at the security drone? You have a phone.” Oh, Mike. I like him already. And yeah, the guy’s as tired of the island as everyone except Davis and Xu. Don’t deadname her though, dude. You might be trying to be nice or true to her real self or whatever but she hasn’t introduced herself as anything other than Jill for a loooong time. I do love that he’s baffled by the thought that he could need a taser for Jill. It’s not just that she’s mostly pretty chill, but she knows the last security guy she attacked is a girl now. (brb applying to work security on Xu’s island… what do you mean, I’m a girl already? I’m trying to double it) God. Took Jill a second to recognise her old self there. Welcome to the club, babe. And hell yes, more Xu gender philosophy! Adore seeing what makes this man tick. “You have said ‘we’ when you refer to Second Dawn.” eyyyyyyyyyyy Holy shit he’s really trying it. Xu’s really trying to make Jill into someone more like him. Not just to recruit her but to slowly persuade her of the validity — or at least, I guess, the satisfaction — of his position in life. WOW. And Jill’s so polite with him now. She speaks her mind but she also talks to him like he’s, like, her BOSS. I’m so excited so see where this goes. And it almost feels redundant to say it, but you put in such an extraordinary effort every time that I simply must: astounding renders! Jill and Adele look incredible — her wet hair in the first scene! what??? how??? — but so do Mike and Mr Xu! I love Xu’s face especially in the panel where he’s standing by the screen with the photo of Jack on it; he looks so much like, just, a guy I would see in the street. Just much richer. (God, also, I went back to the previous episode and you can see the seeds of Xu’s… distaste… for what Kaschak plans for Adele. Talking about how he hates to waste resources, trying to persuade him of the erotic value of keeping around a broken man… He’s not going to put a hair out of place, of course, but if he can steer someone to a more tasteful position through argument or through influence, he will. Love this.)
