I imagine this is a syndrome many of you wouldn't mind too much! 😉

The attorney said, “Once you read and sign this final form, we’ll be finished.”
Nick reluctantly accepted the papers. He had no interest in reading the legalese. Mentally, he was a million miles away. This was the day he’d dreaded since his physician handed down the grim diagnosis a year earlier: Acquired Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
“Basically,” his doctor had declared. “Your body is now turning your testosterone into estrogen.”
“What?” Nick said. “How?”
“We’re not sure,” the doctor replied. “The syndrome is still rare, but the number of cases is increasing. Some of my colleagues believe it’s caused by a recessive chromosomal mutation triggered by a still-unknown virus. Others think it’s nature trying to correct our overpopulation of the planet. But for you, Nick, what it means is that within the year you will be, chemically, entirely female. Your body shape will be irreversibly altered, similar to what a trans woman goes through. And, of course, you will be infertile. In fact, you probably already are.”
Nick attempted to cover his changes, but eventually, his boss claimed his odd appearance was distracting the other employees.
“Frankly, Nick, you’ll need to start dressing as a woman or I’ll be forced to let you go.”
Nick begrudgingly complied, and the blouses, skirts, and makeup began.
Now, after months of procrastinating, the day had finally arrived for the lawyer to help finalized his new gender status. His psychiatrist said that he could not heal emotionally until he received the closure his new body required. It was one of the hardest things he’d ever done.
After the lawyer departed, he sat down on a stool wearing his old men’s jeans for probably the last time, and contemplated his fate. With a quick signature, Nick had become Nicole. Twenty-four. Five-foot-nine. Female. Her life had changed forever.
