Goku in original Dragon Ball is stupid AND ignorant. Quit cherry picking scenes from Super then giving the entirety of OG a bit of grace. Also remaining ignorant 4 arcs into the OG show isn’t ignorance anymore.

Goku in Super is stupid because he ought to know better but still acts like a complete fool with no regard for consequences. Goku in DB wasn't stupid, he was ignorant because he literally never met another Earthling aside from his Grandpa until he was 10 and got crashed into by Bulma. It's not the same at all, dude hadn't even seen a girl before which is why he was doing that. Goku in Super is a GRANDFATHER who has life experiences that span the universe and even the afterlife. He shouldn't have the mindset of a toddler anymore which is why he didn't by the end of Z even when he kept his general goodness(like sparing enemies).

That guy was walking around slapping people’s genitals through multiple arcs and saying mad braindead shit every 5 seconds

Him wanting to play with Buu and refusing to kill him while hiding another form was the beginning of him becoming a dangerous dumbass, and that was in Z. Super Goku is written dumb in certain episodes but then is perfectly fine in 98% of the others. He started out goofy in the Goku Black arc but became stoic in the final showdown. Generally, it’s similar shit across all shows. Moments of genius, mixed with moments of insurmountable stupidity that allow the plot to artificially thicken. It’s been that way since the OG show.

Innocent and naive, maybe, but not borderline mentally handicap like Super Goku. It looks even goofier considering Goku is supposed to be a Grandpa at this point, yet he regressed to lower maturity than he had as a kid.
