Everything that has happened to this kid led to this moment. Fighting Orochimaru and seeing his power, then getting a Curse Mark and feeling its effects firsthand, only to then see Naruto's growth from training with another Sannin, then getting whipped by Itachi and seeing that Naruto is the one he is after, THEN him fighting Naruto and seeing the Rasengan, THEN him getting jumped by the Sound Four and them telling him at his LOWEST POINT that Orochimaru can make him stronger. It all adds up.
