The bang in the front of his hair was also present, unlike before. I’ve always assumed he was in his ultimate form and he and Piccolo were training before rushing to see Trunks off. Makes sense given Gohan’s inner commentary the last time we saw him 😁😁

As nice as it is to remain in the current timeline, those versions of the characters are strong and can take care of themselves without him. Plus he doesn’t really know most of them all that deeply

2024-12-30 21:25:55 +0000 UTCI’m glad you guys liked the ending. Apparently it’s controversial because of the Chekhov’s gun. I actually like it BECAUSE of that. It’s the only Dragon Ball ending that truly felt like a “bad timeline” and the heroes didn’t win. My major complaint was that I thought Zamasu turning ethereal was a bit of a weird thing. I think this ending was the best way to permanently write time travel out of the story so it won’t be a cop-out in future arcs. It was clear that was Toriyama’s main goal of this arc since every episode made a point to keep bringing up the problems with time travel. Next episode is filler but it also ends with the same idea. I think keeping time travel an option reduces the stake of the stories, so as much as I like Future Trunks, I’m not mad if this was the angle they’re going for.
