2024-10-05 22:53:57 +0000 UTCSo basically from what I understand, after the Toriyama created the second movie (the one after Battle of Gods), the revived interest immediately made Toei finally confident enough to make a new DB show. So they got to work IMMEDIATELY and the show went on air like… the month after that movie. You can only imagine what a schedule that tight can do to animation. There were instances where they finished episodes only a few HOURS before airing. This episode originally released looking very rough and unfinished. You watched a version of it with some corrections. So yeah if you notice some weird animation here and there, that’s why. That’s also why I think you guys should skip some episodes in the second arc - it wasn’t corrected unlike this episode. It also didn’t add anything to the movie unlike this arc As the show went on, it gradually recovered from the damage of that schedule early on. The last arc in particular had some of the best DB animation.
