Fair your opinion is your opinion. But downplaying the OG Naruto franchise this much in comparison to Shippuden simply makes no sense. Naruto has many moments that compete in the hype department in comparison to Shippuden. There are things the OG franchise does better than Shippuden as well, like the use of it's side characters. Shippuden just tied the knot on a lot of stories started in OG Naruto, so of course there's a lot more plot twist.

What I mean by that is, I never paid attention to Naruto, Shippuden is what made me realize how badass Naruto was, and I am a hardcore dragon Ball fan. What Naruto offered me over dragon ball Z is the plot twist/story as well as the fighting, without spoiling anything, I'll tell you if you make it to Shippuden the fighting scale increases and the story gets WAY better, this is my opinion. The fighting is good in Naruto but it's the crazy as story and plot twist that got me hooked. If you like any of the basic Naruto episodes, shippen is 10x better. The analogy I like to use is basic Naruto is like watching dragon ball instead of dragon ball Z, and I think most people would agree dragon ball Z is leagues above dragon ball. I'm just waiting for you guys to get to Shippuden because until you get to Shippuden I wouldn't even bother having an opinion on how good or bad you think the show is. It's like when you show someone dragon ball Z before super Saiyan, I wouldn't give an opinion on dragon ball Z until you reach super Saiyan and beyond, same with Naruto, get to Shippuden and the real show begins. Naruto is the second Anime I liked other than dragon ball Z. I remember watching Shippuden saying "wait wasn't this that retarded Naruto show I never watched?" Started watching it at Shippuden at got addicted for each episode, then I went back and watched these Naruto episodes that I never watched. If you like any of these episodes, you will easily think Shippuden is leagues better
