It honestly sucks that the Fandom has been divided into those who love the overall story, and those that treat Non-canon stuff by firstly barking "NON-CANON" Before berating anything that hasn't been on the Manga. Personally, the way I see it, the movies are it's own timeline, different from the current timeline and different from Future Trunks timeline. Future Trunks never had Goku and Vegeta around , they were mostly killed by the Androids. But this alternate reality version of Kid trunks from the Movies - That's where he got his sword from and its paying homage to Future trunks. I feel like everyone would enjoy DB content so much more if they didn't get scientific with it. I mean, hell, games and interviews themselves acknowledge things like the movies and GT. It's wrong to just write it off completely.
