This saga has some goofiness for sure but also has some of the best high points in the show imo.
Like Majin Vegeta and his character development and fusion being introduced.
Also seeing how the cast fares against magic too.

Goku would lose, he might put up somewhat of a fight if you wanted to be generous.
He wanted to fuse again and even admits to Vegeta theyβre both still outmatched after Buu loses power.

Believe it or not, the writers did a good job at telling us why the villians were capable of such ridiculous abilities. Buu was forged with magic so it's somewhat believable that he could do all these things. Cell was the peak of scientific achievement. Frieza was a powerful breed of Alien. I appreciate shows that focus more on visual story telling than over explaining things.
