This is old 😂 I forgot I even commented on this. No, I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, I'm saying that both are wrong, but one gets way more hate than the other when in my opinion it should be equal.

2024-08-18 16:15:17 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree. I like Gotenks because of his attacks and he's just a fusion of two kids, but it is annoying how Buu killed Chi Chi and at first Goten was all motivated and Trunks wanted to avenge Vegeta, but they still ended up playing around.

2024-08-16 22:05:12 +0000 UTCOh I agree what Gohan did totally had some very bad consequences, that’s why he still gets shit over it. What Vegeta also did in in that saga was beyond dumb. And you’re right to avoid spoilers it isn’t the last time but he gets nothing but hate for the next one to come. To the point that I think alot of people even stop liking Gohan as a character after it unfortunately. But two things can be different but similar. It’s totally believable two little Kids like Goten and Trunks that have never faced anything like this before would act like that. And like I said I actually like Gotenks. Just feel like he has so much wasted potential because of it. Toriyama is also a gag writer though so I think he just wanted to make another semi goofy character.

In the end, Gohans toying around with Cell ended up getting Goku killed, Future Trunks killed for the time being and almost Vegeta killed during the Cell games. Whether it was toying once or multiple times, it shows that doing it at all had consequences, and in Gohan's case, it cost two people their lives.

Gotenks has clowned around and played super hero against Buu multiple times now. Including still not taking it completely seriously as a SSj3. Gohan did drag it out and torture Cell but learned not to underestimate him the next time when he came back. Regardless Gohan still does get hate from a lot of people for that. Personally I still like Gotenks but doesn’t mean you can’t point out the issues.

The goofing around and arrogance is fine at first for his character but I wish he would have been written to get more serious sooner. It just seems to bloat the arc and make it drag. He has all of the makeup to be a bad ass too if his writing was just tweaked a little. But Toriyama loves him some odd comedy. Though I admit his personality is well written in terms of how a combination of Goten and Trunks would act. Like two little kids playing super hero, but it just needed to be more serious and less comical.
