Dbz time travel. Easiest way to think about it is that it’s just multiverse theory. Even the movies can tie into this as most of them happen in slightly different realities from the main timeline. Where things just played out differently then the main show causing possibly different events. Like a main villain getting defeated early/by a different character or even just in a different way. Goku living through the heart virus for example created this new separate timeline. Butterfly effect type stuff haha.
