2023-05-21 16:25:22 +0000 UTCFrom seeing Red Velvet's recording behinds (and now this one), it seems like SM artists don't really practice the songs beforehand (like they get the demo and probably only practice for themselves a bit) and the real magic happens in the booth, where the artists themselves can give their feedback and tweak certain things. That's also why there always seems to be a revise/second recording, where they re-record things that didn't work 100% when put together with the other parts or whatever the producer feels like is still missing. (We normally don't get to see these during NCT recording behinds because there are so many members!) During the recording for Birthday for example Wendy recorded second and gave a group part a specific swag that the producer reaaaally liked and then had everyone after her record in the same manner. Joy, who recorded first, had to re-record that part during revise to match with the others. I really love to see these progresses, how the songs come together and how every group gives these songs their very own flavor. The difference between the demo/guide and the endproduct is sometimes pretty vast! It's also so great to see how supportive these producers always are! They always compliment and give great feedback. The first part of the recording behind is also great! Maybe after listening to rest of the album, you can decide if you want to check out that one as well x) I was surprised how early they began with recording this album, and how late the title track was recorded. Jaehyun just came back from Thailand (shooting for Esquire Korea!), so the recording happened sometime at the end of March, which seems crazy to me xDD
