if you want an endurance challenge, award 5 points for longest, 0 points for second longest, 1 point for 3rd longest, 2 for 4th longest 3 for quickest. So the choice is between jumping for 2nd place, or waiting it out as long as possible for 1st place. The problem with penalizing longest, is you have to make judgement a call about how long others will wait. The UK task also had a 10 minute limit, so didn't have an endurance option. In order to game this system, you need some statistics on the average waiting time, and that info isn't available, so you have to make a judgement call.
