Drawing the No North characters as puppies is always a blast!
Although these were the beginning of dark times for Oddwind...

Suprise pages like this are always SUCH A TREAT!! I always light up when I see characters as puppies, and it’s always so interesting to see their pasts! Like what Aerodog said, I can definitely recognize the Jack Russel, Stella, and the Bernese Mountain pup, Gus, from your No Northvember comic a few years back. My, what a beautiful and moving No Northvember piece that was! Also, I had no idea Roger went missing, too! I thought he had moved to the big city, as he’s always traveling for his job, but no. I hope Marsha gets the courage sometime to stand up to Gus and Stella. I also really love how Marsha immediately goes to caring and reassuring Colt, I hope someday somebody lets her know that they appreciate that. The edge of the building there may just be a random building, but it also looks like the smithy or maybe even the hotel, which if it is, nice touch, it definitely foreshadows/connects to Edgar’s disappearance and Sam’s warnings of the Devil! I also believe, and this may be wrong, that Colt is the black dog with the cyan collar that shouts ‘he vanished!’ when Edgar disappeared. Again, it’s so cool to see the backstory of so many of these characters, really brings us into the depth and perspective of the story! One more thing, when Gus and Colt look at Marsha in the last panel, they look really angry, leading me to think they might turn and yell at her, especially with the way Marsha’s dialogue cuts off. Poor Marsha, she really did have a bad childhood. Amazing page, I can’t wait to see where this goes!

2024-05-07 00:11:31 +0000 UTCAhhhhhhhhh yes the flashbacks this is the story/scene I think I remember where Marsha gets bullied by the other two pups and that’s where she meets up with Steban. This might have bought back some painful memories for poor Marsha thinking back to those times where she can look up to Steban for hope. Have an awesome week Skailla ☺️
