Beyond The Star Ep 1

Hola Primos!

And welcome back! We hope everyone's week has been going GREAT! Today we are kicking off a new show that we have been very interested to watch since we first saw it pop up on Disney. We have a long list of shows to watch but for now we start with Beyond The Star Ep1, The Beginning.

GOOSEBUMPS. Talking about bringing it way back, this one literally goes back to the beginning of BTS. And the hair! 😂 Really love how they talk in present time about past moments. We can tell we are really going to enjoy this docuseries. I mean, we haven't seen a show we didn't love yet.

See you in the comments!

You guys are literally the best reactors!!!

💗💗

Nana

Jimin has been through a lot of hard times. I really respect all 7 members who overcame adversity and became top-notch professionals!!!!

Lindy

HYBE as a corporation didn’t even exist back then. BigHit Entertainment was a very tiny company and it was only because of BTS that they were able to build up the company. HYBE was established in 2021. Imagine that. It was after they became hyper successful with the LY:SY world tour, Dynamite, BE, and all their achievements even during a pandemic.

Tia Bee

i feel their struggle in my soul. they went through so much and still always smiled and spread positive vibes out to ARMY. they really are my heroes 💖💜

indira lusthoff

pls react to jungkook imitating his hyungs"

EllieBear

I love when you guys react to this kind onf content! See who BTS truly are, their hardships and beliefs, it's the best way to know them.

Maria Eduarda Moretti de Moura

I love this documentary!!! Its so honest and raw and informative

Tin Tin

I've waited so long for this moment! Although my favorite is "The Rise of Bangtan", I love this documentary!!! Thank you !!!

Pilar Farfalla

Can't wait for you guys to react to BTS Rookie and BTS Hustle life, it was an old videos but you can definitely saw them raw you know, and most of all genuine. And funny, I love them so much

메리입니다

I remember that time as ARMY as well. The online platforms were full of other fandoms basically telling us to shut up about this “nobody group who hasnt even won first place on a music show”. But we were just enjoying connecting with fellow armys since most of us could never find fellow army IRL😩 nowadays I spot an army everyday💀

Itami

Does anyone know if CCW plans to stream Hobi's concert in Korea?

melluvstobake

I had such a tough day at work and was very down but being able to watch this specific docu and with you guys made me my night last night happy and smiling. Everything the members say and experienced is sooo relatable that’s why I love watching them as it always feel like I can relate to them and as if they are speaking to me during tough times. Can’t wait for the next episodes 💜💜💜

Arla

This is the best docu-series of the boys journey for me!!! it's such a emotional rollercoaster !!

Min Jet

Looking forward to watch this with you!

Line Henriksen

Please react BTS : Yet To Come Concert in Busan 2022

Yunjin

I know it's wasn't called a documentry but if they really wanted to start from the beginning of BTS's journey they should of stated with that..they can skip the first 2 episodes if they want but it's part of their learning process and the reason they went there. And they put on their first little free concert..that was the best..l hope they reconsider and watch it one day they would enjoy it. If the guys survived it so can all of us.

Alice Smith

Same, it's hard to keep up

MinChim

thx guys so much love you all🥰

nana

Me too!!!

nana

Why did I think they watched this show already? 🤔

Bangtan’s PrettiNikki7

Love this episode so much, reminds me of how they are so new to the industry and no one to look up to. Hope you guys can react to this video https://youtu.be/aOVyPLUd6YU?si=WvaJunLa_n00DRj9

alifia pc

as a kpop fan, only iconic songs from that year 2014 came out. like cmon!! eyes nose lips by taeyang, mr. mr by gg, red light, overdose, just straight back to back bangers. the competition was stacked and these songs are still loved to this day!!

Tyler

I was so sad. I got 2 days Chicago tickets with soundcheck barricade and the tour was cancelled.

Mary Ann

Very true

Jess Min

I wanna mention something you may not know, at the time of BTS' debut, alot of idol groups didnt write their own lyrics, melodies, or even production. From the beginning BTS was always heavily involved in their own music which wasnt common for kpop idol groups. The Rapline has always been praised by the vocal line for the amount of participation they had since day 1. That alone not only set their music to another standard but made it even harder for a group of young individuals like themselves. In your teenage years, life is already so confusing and complicated... While they were living their idol life, these 7 guys were also trying to balance out their education and were in the age where everything in the personal life was also moving forward so quickly. The journey of their albums is literally their real story of their youth to now, Jimin's tattoos "Nevermind" and "Young Forever" were actually inspired by the YNWA album and era, you can tell how impactful those albums were to him <3 i just find it so beautifully special how their career has blossomed and is being documented through music... almost like a fairytale. i love this docu series so much because even though most of us know this stuff, its always better hearing it from the members themselves with more depth ! Cant wait for the rest of the episodes 💜

laura

I hope you guys can react to the movie versions of the doc-series you've already seen because a good portion of the movies isn't in the series(And vice versa)!💜

DanielleM

Ugh this first episode always makes me emotional. And just as a reference, in 2024, 33 boy groups debuted. How many of them will survive? Who knows? But if I am not mistaken BTS is the only group who debuted in 2013 and survived. Scratch that, they thrived! They are definitely a one of a kind group!

Rae Avilez

In this documentary I don't know if I cry, smile, have déjà VU, or if I feel proud. I confess that even having the app to watch the documentary I haven't seen it until today because I'm lazy, but watching with you I feel much better

Victorya Rocha

I agree but if that was the case, they would've also watched Hobi's JITB doc for his birthday because they heard a lot of that album already & they watched Hobipalooza. So my in my head I thought they are probably waiting for the albums before they get to the docs. But you could totally be right too.

smilehoyaaaaa💜

Im excited to rewatch this! I havent seen it since it was aired. Made me too emotional lol

Maritza Islas

Some of this footage was never seen before and a real treat for Armys.

Honey 0613

Oof, I remember all that. And people didn't get that they weren't BTS' exhibits, they were funding and boosting other people's art! I'm from Argentina and it really shocked me because they funded an exhibit in Jujuy, Argentina, about the exploitation of the natives and their homeland to extract lithium (the artist displayed the Aerocene Pacha "the first ever balloon-like structure to lift a human into the atmosphere, allowing its pilot to float free, without the use of fossil fuels, helium or lithium –becoming the most sustainable flight in human history "). I'm still amazing when I think about how they gave a platform to a project like that, on the other side of the world! Incredible.

Sofía Hernández

Yes, but sometimes they have reacted to content and without knowing some songs, and they have already reacted to some songs on the album and I don't think it's that necessary. And I think that in the week of Suga's birthday they will react to everything and I hope that in that same week they will see the documentary.

Ale0567

So happy you went with this series next! I think this is the newest documentary you've watched right? I agree it's so cool to see the BTS of today (2023) juxtaposed next to all of that debut footage. I remember when Yoongi said to JK on Suchwita that you have to film your process so you have material for the future to use and he was 100% right.

minicookie

I think they have to react to the full DDay album first.

smilehoyaaaaa💜

I really hope that when they do Suga's birthday week, they react to the Suga: Road to D-Day documentary. It would be really cool since this documentary you get to know Suga more than now and it's so beautiful. 💜💜💜💜☺️✨

Ale0567

FINALLY ✨💜💜💜 such a great documentary

LadySonyondan🐯😺

Yes, I read that as well regarding other groups that debuted in 2013.

Keren Metz

By now I have forgotten how this series goes so its so nice to re-experience it with you guys.

Jillian Lee

This documentary is so good and raw!!! Loving watching this with yall 💜💜

Annmarie

Seing some scenes in this episode reminded me of their festa dinners, I really hope you guys will be able to get to them soon.

Moonchldx__

That opening scene is from 2020 (ON era, I don't think you've watched much content from then yet), and RM is speaking about/BTS is at the CONNECT, BTS art exhibit, which was part of a giant project BTS launched for their comeback where they gave several artists from around the world a platform to display their art in connection to the "CONNECT:" theme They did get ridiculed in the global media at the time, though, as many argued, "Who the heck is BTS to be putting on major art exhibits?" Basically saying what does BTS know about art (plus, it was overall disrupted by COVID).

Ahjusshi_Brown

gosh this is such a good documentary. so emotional but also so raw and real. there’s a reason they’re the standard in kpop. they’re so genuine and have no issue showing their genuine emotions.

luna

i was also into it and i didn´t want it to end. the whole book is basically describing the exact same thing but more detailed. this docu serie is really good because we get to se them grow up on camera in these episodes. how many artist have this very detailed journal of themself. they will be able to look back at this for years and reminisce of the glory days. and how much it took to get there. and for fans it is litterally the rise of bangtan, from underdogs to legends

leat

yeah esp. since both songs are know considered to be classics. Something changed with I need u and Run. Also I saw that from the groups that debuted with BTS in 2013 only BTS are still active. I'm not 100% sure of this but if that's true that is kind of crazy.

Yodit Y

Finally !!❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹💜💜

Marilyn

Ive been saying this since last year but i know they will get to it eventually its their journey

Sunny

watching this now is very emotional but watching it as it was airing was worse 😭😭 imo this is such a good intro documentary for new fans. it can be daunting to dive deep to get to know their story so this is a nice little “package”. seeing little bts makes me so sad ☹️ like they were little babies. right now i’m older than any of them were during debut and i don’t think i would have the strength mentally and physically to keep going 🥺 they truly deserve all that they have

moonie εïз

I hope you guys end up watching 'American Hustle Life' one day. It's not all as bad and I think it's a crucial point in their career. Plus it's super interesting to see them all practice and learn.

NatsLocker

Yes !! I have recently watched 'I AM STILL' and I instantly fell in love with it.

NatsLocker

Hyung line getting cuteness aggression watching Jungkookie in his school uniform knowing how he acts tough in the dorms is my absolute favourite 🤣💜 Such a great documentary and am so excited for the reactions! The episodes get better and the storytelling is awesome too!

BZ

I hope you could watch all of the solo member's docu lol. That would be fun :D

borahae BTS

I LOVE reacting to the shows with you guys so this is one I hadn’t watched yet and I’m SO EXCITED to get to watch it with y’all!

isaro patience

I'm so glad you are now able to watch this docu-series, so looking forward to your reactions. I still cannot comprehend how N.O. and Danger flopped when the songs came out because those are such bangers. I'm curious to know if songs from other artists around that time are still good or if they aged out. That's why I love Bangtan's music - I feel that they are so good that they withstand the test of time.

Keren Metz

tbh a lot of groups that debuted around the time bts debuted and were in the big agencies had articles and media exposure so they took off but bts was still not taking off at the time leading to a lot of online trolling which members saw directly cause they were very present online at that time for fan interactions and that might have lead to that impatience and they were not comparing themselves to groups who were seven years long like daniel said it must have just felt very unfair to them cause the groups that debuted one year before them and some evn after them were getting no.1s and they were not even tho the songs were very good

Shreya

Yesssss

ana

Unrelated to the documentary but! I saw there were some tickets on sale again for hobi’s concert in San Antonio, if you guys can, I hope you’ll be able to go!

Thea

I remeber in the Suchwita ep w/ Jimin, they touched on Jimin being impatient and always in a rush to be good at things and I think it's because he's always had to catch up to where the group already were. Most of the members already had 1-2 years training together before he came to the picture and he only had 6 months breaking his "dance habits" and learn the type of dancing required to be a KPOP/BTS member. Not to mention they had him train in rap first and didnt have enough time for vocal training before they debut. He always felt he had to catch up with everyone and hearing from Bang PD himself that he also doubted him is kinda sad and makes me understand why Jimin acted that way or has that kind of mentality in their early years.

Cheng A

Wow yay!!! I remember tearing up a lot when this came out. So wonderful to watch it again with you guys 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

ada

yessss been waiting for this foy so long

Shreya

31:15 to 16, yes Daniel alot of pressure because mostly they were the only group in the company after a situation ( no spoilers) happen

Kearyce Moore

Best morning! I got teary eyed too like Summer and Abigail when the JHope birthday came on 😭 I can’t even imagine the weight these guys carried. I can’t wait to see the rest of the series 💜

kika

Such a great one today 💜

Rasha

Recently somewhere I heard Jin say that they appeared in variety shows like X, Y, Z. The others with him seemed surprised as these were later shows like in 2017, 2018, and he said "yes". He didn't explain, but army knows that before they " made it", they were not invited in variety shows. I relate so much of what they went through with my career, of course in my tiny way. The gap between their debut and I need you is what I went through after completing my PhD to getting a tenured job. @CCW, thank you guys for focusing on the positive throughout your discussions.

D

Omg 5th time watching this and it's gonna be with yall. I was not expecting to watch it yet cause there are spoilers for upcoming content for you guys chronologically, but ok lol

Kearyce Moore

There has been interviews in the past where the members highlight Jin and j-hope as members who took a lot of responsibility and care in their home life. Which I have to say is really admirable considering both of them are the youngest in their respective families.

Yodit Y

this docu series is so fun i’m so excited

Tyler

finally ❤

Rayane Alves

great ep and reaction..ive watched this but rewatching it with you guys made me emotional again.

Maya

He also used to sneakily take some of his mom’s cutlery and kitchen tools to cook for the guys 🥹

7

for me this is the best bts series.. i really love this, thanks CCW 💜

i love purple

There was a reason this was requested so many times on all your stations and now you know why..lm glad you are enjoying it.

Alice Smith

minimoni

This is my 4th time watching this. I love all their docuseries, but I love this the most, especially after reading the book

Amlyse Lyseam⁷ OT7

I’m watching this with you guys, I haven’t seen this yet ! I wonder if you guys are gonna have an ep up weekly or bi weekly

Gladeez

This and their book Beyond the story is a really good thing to watch and read if you want to learn more about BTS. It shows how hard it was, their thoughts, how they persevered and that at the basis of all of it is love and respect for each other.

Yodit Y

Jin used his pocket money from his parents to feed the guys at one point 🥺

Shna Faruq

Same

Anija

I never watched this particular documentary. It'll be really nice going through it with you guys. This was beautiful ❤️

Chalce Eze

this and their book Beyond the story that covers similar things are really good. They really go deep talking about the good, the bad and the ugly. What becomes clear is that the love and respect they have for each other has played and continues to play a huge part in BTS.

Yodit Y

Im watching this for the first time with you 💜

Chloe

19:38 Jin is known for his positive mindset, optimistic personality, and for always bringing joy so we rarely see him cry on camera or open up about sad things in interviews because he’s so intentional about only showing his bubbly side—he says he never wants us to feel sad or worried. That’s why seeing him sob like that completely breaks my heart. He worked so hard on himself and has grown into the incredible artist he is today. It’s so heartwarming to see him more at ease now 💜

7

Not gonna lie this is probably their best documentary-series.

therealdydyy

sooo excited for this!! i hope you guys watch the other series/movie documentaries on disney+, one day

Sar

Aah, can't wait to get home from work, put on the sauna, get cozied up and watch this😍 super excited
