I tried to keep this vague enough that it isn't spoilers. : ) Mods, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about! but it is hilarious and so fun.

MV and it’s on streaming Is this performance/dance break unique? Yes (but no) — They also performed this exact version of Fake Love at MAMA Japan 2018 (the camera work was even worse for that performance 💀) BUT almost all their special performances have dance practices uploaded and this specific performance had a dance practice uploaded for FESTA a few years back (it’s not the clearest video and they don’t go full out the whole time bc it was a genuine rehearsal video but it does give a wide shot of the dance break—for Summer 😂)

I just don't understand how a producer or camera operator decides to zoom in when all of them are dancing together or have a group routine. Just keep it zoomed out so you can see everything. Most of the time it's good but there are some I'm just baffled by.

2024-10-31 18:21:44 +0000 UTCNot an edit you can see when most of the background dancers ran off. It's when BTS were all in the center and you had like 10 dancers remaining. Then they zoomed in on Kookie putting his monitor back in and turning around to start "Love is so bad" thats when the rest were running out, on the zoom in. The beginning performances were pre-recorded while the guys recreated it on the stage for the audience but other than that no edits. This wasn't the first time they did that break. They performed it at either MAMA or MMA in all black and it was too dark for everyone to see so the guys and BH decided to redo it here in white so you could see them.

All the solos are amazing. This is one of my favorite Singularity performances, it loses only for the Singularity live performance from Speak Yourself the Final in Seoul concert, THAT ONE left me in shambles, V just leaves me speechless every time 💜💜💜💜 Also, yes, Hobi and Jimin have no bones, and they prove it in that fake love performance. I’m always in awe of their dancing. But I Think all of them did amazing. The performances, the dances, live vocals, stage presence… everything top notch. I miss my BTS 🥲💜 Thanks for the reaction 💜

They move very quickly, but there was no editing or anything there - it's a mixture of the dancers moving fast and the use of the camera to focus the viewers' eyes away from the exit of the backup dancers.

2024-10-31 17:56:45 +0000 UTCI’ve seen others recommending the dance practice and I second, third, and fourth that. Great reaction, but yes, the camera work is really frustrating at times. As someone who loves their transitions, it’s annoying when we don’t get to see hardly any of it. The camera will focus on the center member or even just the top half of them 😑 and barely show the others. A lot of times this means that we miss j-hope’s amazing dance on shows like this, so thank goodness for dance practices and behind vids. I know CCW doesn’t know anything about dance, so they’re not able to appreciate how mind-boggling his intricate, detailed moves are (btw, how j-hope uses his shoulders in choreography is a masterclass!), but it burns me up on some of these shows how little they show him and a few of the other members. They put so much work into a performance and then no one can even see it.

2024-10-31 16:22:39 +0000 UTCBTS has dance practices to accompany and def worth the watch (and the wider locked camera haha) -- sometimes, there are also BTS focused versions of performances that are not via the network but likely someone on their team that has the shot just on them -- andddd often for main tracks, they will do alt options (ie fake love has a rock version which is what was in this performance!) thank you :)

2024-10-31 15:45:03 +0000 UTCThe rock ver. of Fake Love and dance sequence was redone from a MAMA awards that was really hard for the audience to see because the stage was dark and the boys were wearing black along with the backup dancers, hence the white jackets this time. There’s a dance practice if you want to check it out. I avoid these type of shows if I can, only because the camera angles are horrible and can make a person dizzy. Sometimes I feel like the cameraman or production team are so spastic with camera work purposefully because they’re anti’s or bias towards another group. But that’s just my conspiratorial mind working overtime.

IMHO, there are a lot of award shows that do not shoot BTS' performances well, mostly because BTS' performances are so unique that a lot of video directors do not know what to do with them. The dance practices showcase the performance really well but it would be nice to see the live performances with better camera work.
