Welcome back to Ep5 of In The Soop! It's been awhile since we last watched the guys relax in the forest. We were so ready to jump back in where we left off, and we even grabbed some authentic Korean snacks. Delish!
The guys are back! The food is back! And so are the laughs. Today the guys return to the forest after a busy schedule. And we just can't get over the prep work the guys put in to their meals. Good episode today!

In Korea, it's really common for people to SQUAT - people squat anywhere! P.S. it is also common for Koreans to sit on the floor (even when there is a couch, people often sit on the floor lol)

2024-10-11 16:43:52 +0000 UTCWe have many Korean supermarkets here in Perth as well as restaurants and Dessert cafes so we are a little spoilt. We can get most things here. I ate so much delicious food in my 6 weeks in Korea differing in various parts of Korea, all amazing. Next episode is amazing. J Hopes Hope plane is hung in the ‘In the Soop 2 ‘ house and I had the pleasure of standing underneath and looking up at it, as well as some of their artwork and sitting where they sat! If you go to Korea do the ‘In the Soop’ excursion, it is well worth it.

2024-10-11 14:29:53 +0000 UTCAfter watching this season of In The Soop, I became hooked to having Chilsung Cider. Over in SK, when they order food, they just mention Cider, this drink will be served. Now, I just order it online whenever I feel a craving for it. As for hotteok, when I first had it, it was in the middle of winter, and it was served piping hot. But it was sooooo good! Love the crunchiness of the nuts and the softness of the pancake. Of course the sweetness as well. I love the idea that you look up the names of the food whenever you see the members eating their Korean food. Keep doing that cos it's all about learning their culture and food.

My spice tolerance is like Tae's and Hobi's 😂 Also, Jin and Jimin have their own restaurant/cafe in Jimin's case run by his parents.

2024-10-10 05:36:11 +0000 UTCthis was sucha good episodeeee i got so excited seeing yall with hotteok and chilsung at the beginning also i love seeing yall repeat the korean you're able to pick up with your ears, I've been seeing summer & daniel do it several times now over some episodes too! it's so fun getting familiar with a new language~ random tidbit: -bangtan made this joke already in another episode earlier in the series, but one of them was asking for some plastic "wrap" and the others made a pun by starting to "rap" like "yo!!!" "check it!!!" and saying "rrrrrrap monster!!!" P.S. especially during warmer weather, yall haaaaave to try mul naengmyun (the cold noodles with broth). it's so incredibly refreshing! for me, really yummy naengmyun has a delicious cold broth that's flavorful with some tang. it'll typically (based on spots i've tried before) comes with a bottle of vinegar and another bottle of mustard on the side for you to season your bowl with. i can't stop raving about it lolol there's also a "dry" version called bibim naengmyun, where instead of broth, it'll come with a sweet, tangy, spicy sauce that you mix all together. OH important PSA for first-time naengmyun eaters--the noodles they usually use are VERY chewy. this is normal, but pls chew it well bc if you swallow too fast it can get unconfortable ^^;; restaurants will typically bring you a pair of scissors to cut your noodles up for that reason

Even better, bring a bowl of noodles for the next episode and see who can slurp the loudest. 2) I don't know about the other parts of Asia, but in Korea, a loud slurp is a compliment to the chef and a sign of an excellent meal. Same goes for the burp. The louder, the bigger the appreciation of your culinary skills and service. (Pretty sure that wasn't helpful at all...) Cultural awareness is always a good thing, though. Trust me, I can practically see your stress from the other side of the screen, but if we're gonna love these guys, we might as well love everything else that comes with them! Bon appetit. 💜

I was shocked when i first heard about it 😭 but it’s more like a few ingredients and a paste on top instead of a sauce, so it’s not weird to eat cold. At restaurants they’ll even put a slushee type ice in it to make it more refreshing. I definitely recommend, there’s different kinds of naengmyeon!! 💜

Also I had forgotten VMin's Young Forever karaoke was here, it's iconic. 😄 @CCW, all In the Soop are in SK, because the show was a replacement of Bon Voyage during pandemic (2020 and 2021). If we get a reality show in 2025, it will be Bon Voyage. But now that the producers know that ITS is a success, they may bring the flavour of restful travel, like they did in Are You Sure. How to do this with seven of them, we'll have to wait and find out.

It was the only convenience store near it and they were selling Korean food and merch. We were guessing that the franchise owner might be Korean. We went in and there was a long line. I saw people with Chilsung in their baskets. I grabbed some and they were refreshing. Esp the flavored ones. I was watching VMINKOOK’s live stream at that time ( yes the one where V dropped name brands, it was done after their concert). That’s how long we were waiting in line because the concert was done and vminkook was already in their hotel livestreaming in weverse. I wish we had Chilsung at an HMART here. i loved it 😍
