Zuko's struggle has never in my opinion been about "choosing between good and evil" because if you think back he's never been really onboard with the fire nation ideology. Capturing Aang wasn't about defeating the Avatar to him, it was always about redeeming himself in his father's eyes. He's already chosen good in many different ways. To me, Zuko's story has always been about a sixteen year old boy (yes important to remember he is only about sixteen!!) forced to choose between his family and his conscience. Regardless of how evil we know and see Azula and the Firelord to be, they are still his sister and his father and represent the only life he's ever known. When put on the spot, it would be very hard to give all that up for an uncertain future, where you no longer know your place in the world. I also feel for Azula in some ways too because, yes, she does seem so evil and makes a great villain, but I can't imagine the kind of life and treatment that would turn a 15 year old girl into that.

2023-11-04 17:37:48 +0000 UTCazula is downright EVIL it's crazy... seriously an incredible villain. just as smart as she is diabolical poor zuko... he was literally a little kid when his father abused and banished him. what a scarring experience (no pun intended lol) for him to have gone through. chasing after his father's approval is all he knows but man after this episode did i hate him loool

2023-11-03 16:02:44 +0000 UTCUGH yes so happy you released the eps together; this finale is too good! azula is best villain fr - and i know we're all upset at zuko here buttt it's important to at least consider that he longs for his father's love above all, like being in an dv relationship where you'll still go back no matter how cruel you logically know your partner is )': healing isn't linear! anyway onto season 3 im soooo hyped, it's definitely my fav one. thank you for another great and thoughtful reaction guys!

My adult daughter and I just moved in together and she asked me to watch it with her and in return she will watch Call the Midwife with me. Lol. This is how she got me paying attention to BTS several years ago. I would watch the videos with her and she would watch Downton Abbey with me. I should add that I enjoyed The Last Airbender more than I thought I would.
