It's time for a RM'S BIRTHDAY WEEK Polls!! 🥳🥳
**LONG POST WARNING. You can skip to the end if you truly don't want to read 😅**
BUT FIRST!!! - We need to address the ginormous elephant in the room. For whatever reason, our last several polls have created massive debates in the comment section. And while we LOVE when there's discourse amongst all our primos, it can get heated at times. So we wanted to clear the air on a few things that we've seen become recurring debates.
**Why are you watching this super old video of BTS?? They have so much good content that just came out. **
This has come up a few times and of course we get it. Something fresh comes out all the time and so much has changed in 10 years so why stay in the past. We feel that to truly appreciate what BTS has become, we also have to learn and appreciate how they got there. So a video from 9 years ago is equally as important to us as videos from today in a lot of ways. A lot of ARMY started their journey years ago and were able to experience this whole process real time and witness INCREDIBLE moments. We want to do the same. But of course as you've seen, we'll still watch new content from time to time especially when something fresh drops.
Maknae Line vs Hyung Line - Vocal Line vs Rap Line
Another source of debates is the alleged unfairness people call out when it comes to the different subgroups of BTS. This of course is NOT by design of ours. As new ARMY, we see BTS has a 7 member group. A lot of times when we pick songs it's just based on something we heard somewhere, and don't think twice about which sub-line the song belongs to. We could watch 20 videos in a row of literally any member and we would enjoy it. --That being said, we do know that this is important to a lot of people and so we are making more of a conscious effort to keep that in mind. We already have plans for Rap-Line content in the very near future so don't fret 😉.
Personality videos - Why do they watch compilations when they have so many other great personality videos??
Surprisingly there has also been some debates in regards to the personality videos we watch. Most of them come via poll but occasionally we pick them as well, and for good reason. They give us the best glimpse of who they were and are as people. Yes sometimes videos focus on one specific aspect of their personality and not the whole thing, but that's ok cause we want to see it all anyway. And yes we understand that a video showcasing and member's personality from 2014 is going to be VERY different than how they were in 2023. But as stated above, their growth (whether in success, physically, emotionally, etc) matters to us. How can we know how far they've come or how much they've grown if we don't know where they started.
We only care to see BTS content so why include polls that have other groups?
So first things first, our journey with BTS has only just begun and we have zero desire to not get deeper in this rabbit hole. Army is right, it truly does suck you in. But one thing we've noticed we haven't experienced much of, is how BTS interacts with with the outside world and even more so, those in the same industry. We once watched a video of Jungkook having lunch with a member of the kpop group Shinhwa and we were fascinated by it. We loved seeing his willingness to learn at such a young age. There are many other moments like this including with younger kpop groups where know BTS is the mentor, that we are very interested in seeing. BTS has so much guidance and wisdom to offer and seeing that side of them is very intriguing.
You're not going to understand this video / I don't want you to watch this video cause this isn't how they are anymore and it might confuse you / You have to watch this or that in order or it won't make sense / You aren't ready for that one
There is an over-arching theme here, and it's that we might do things completely wrong. But the biggest asset that we have to help with this, that deserves so much more credit, is our admin team. We speak every single day with them to discuss new releases, changes to the schedule, CONTEXT CLUES needed for certain videos, current events, and so much more. The point being, we are very rarely in the dark when it comes to what we are watching. They go through extreme efforts to prepare us and enlighten us on things. But they do all of this without also spoiling us, they want us to authentically discover BTS but if they notice we misunderstood something or if seem to be steering in the wrong direction, they orient us. It's because of them we know we haven't done enough Rap-Line content. It's because of them we know about all the Suchwita episodes and how some need to be watched in a certain order. It's because of them we knew to watch Burn the Stage before watching Bon Voyage season 3 since it fit in the chronological order. So the key to all of this is, if you're afraid we might perceive a member the wrong cause of a video, or get confused cause we might watch something without the context, just know that we have a whole team who works DAILY to help us. (Special shout out to Juli, an OG 10 year ARMY, who helps lead the group day in and day out).
That being said, although they guide us amazingly, we choose how to go about our journey by listening to all of you, and reading all your comments on Patreon/Youtube/Discord every day. So keep the communication coming, cause it's just the beginning 🙂

This song is a Poem but not just any poem, a very intricate and intelligent poem that you would expect from a wordsmith like Namjoon. His play on words by substituting one letter in it to make an entirely different word and meaning in both Korean and English is sheer genius. It will obviously not win but it is a legendary song for Namjoon and though all the others are from his recent offerings this was is and will always be his most classic. I recommend that you listen to it even if it does not win and get an explanation for the intricacies of it all. It will amaze you. As far as your reacting goes keep doing it your way. It’s your journey we are just along for the ride! 💜💜💜💜

As new ARMY, you guys have a right to see how it was like back then too. So you do you! People who didn't want you to watch older content perhaps are impatient themselves awaiting your reactions to current ones. For me, it was such a ride to be able to learn about who they were and how they have all grown. Also, I'm perfectly fine you reacting to content of other K-Pop interactions with BTS members. It is nice to be able to see them with their fellow idols and see them interact with one another. If not with the other K-Pop groups, at least with their fellow Hybe Artistes. At least, you'd learn that they exist cos they are actually working in the same building! And BTS has always been so sweet with them. To me, it just adds to their personality, so why not react to those videos, right?

Here's a suggestion, why not choose the top two winners of a poll and react to TWO videos in one reaction? You'd get to see more content and you'd make way more people happy. They're hilarious and entertaining as army captures different aspects of BTS' personalities– people saying they're outdated or don't show a member's entire personality... don't get the point of those videos. They're just snippets of bts' quirks, and as they get older, a fun time capsule that we're so lucky to get to watch from the future!! 🥰 Agree with and support everything you guys wrote! 💜 (And also agree with other armys on here that while I'm not a fan of other groups, it's still interesting to see bts react with any public figures out there. There's a BTS meeting US celebrities compilation I hope to request one day, if it's relevant)

2023-08-31 16:26:50 +0000 UTCI appreciate you taking the time to explain some of the “behind the scenes” processes that lead to decisions on reactions and like that you are taking (the well-intended) comments into account for the future so the reactions are spread more evenly between the members. Please ignore demanding or rude interactions. I think that anyone trying to react to BTS or become Army during the Chapter 2 era is in an odd position that a lot of us older fans cannot relate to. The amount of content is insane, it’s primarily solo works which previously only happened once in a blue moon, and to get an idea of how the group BTS works you have to search for older content because there ISN’T new content. It’s been incredibly difficult for me to purchase albums/singles and organize my streaming across platforms so I don’t “neglect” one member. And on top of that, I still need to support the group BTS. So, it’s understandable to “fall short” sometimes. I’m sure not all of us have been consistent all the time in supporting all 7 members and the group, so some leeway needs to be had. You also have families and jobs and other things that may cause you to miss a members newest content and I think we need to be more understanding that life interrupts good intentions all the time (just like it does to all of us).

Last year you watched a compilation video about the members praising RM for being the best leader, but there was an interesting media segment with journalists and news commentators discussing why they admired RM as well. (We are just unrealistically eager for you to see EVERYTHING!) So I definitely appreciate knowing that you have an OG Army on your team. Even though I was able to binge watch most of their content because I don’t have a job and don’t have kids at home, I still relied on Army that I got to know through discord to help me along the way. I made a lot of mistakes and assumptions, but with research and help from OG Army, I found accurate information. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about not being there from the beginning, but still wanting to know them from the beginning. You are doing great, and we enjoy sharing BTS with you, and watching you learn about them and enjoy them as much as we do!

I want to let you know that I am kind of new to BTS ...February 2020....and new to watching reactors. You are NOT the only ones who have gone through "this stage" of having to explain yourself. Or having to answer to everyone's opinion what you should do, what video you should choose, what order you should go through, and on and on. Different reactors have chosen different ways to handle this situation you are faced with. I feel it's important for you to set a boundary for your own mental health. To relieve your stress. Some reactors have shut down comments completely. Because not only do these highly opinionated comments cause Discord for you the reactors, but also for all your subscribers and patreons. You might consider shutting down comments. Another way. Make sure everyone has Discord. And create a place where everyone can voice their opinion. But a place I don't have to access unless I want to. I myself have been attacked with highly negative replies and comments.With such unnecessary hate and malice. I made my choice what to do, and it has worked for me. One thing I always made sure I stated this is "My Opinion" in each one of my posts. I am afforded to have my opinion by our constitution, the law of God, and the truth of the universe. Here is another idea which works for one reactor. He has a live stream almost once a week. And you can ask for a specific video they want you to see. But for your request to be granted, you Must make a donation of $100. And guess what? It IS so important that the person gets their way.....their choice...they do donate $100. So lastly my opinion ...make a choice so you don't have to ever publish an editorial to your subscribers again. For a fact. A True thing. You can't change anyone. You can only change how you act or react to someone or some situation. Actually, I do have another "last" thing to say. Without going back through my comments I probably made strong requests to you and replied to other people in an improper tone. So I apologize to you and to them. Please forgive me. My opinion. Make a choice of setting a healthy boundary so we all can enjoy your channel without the stress of highly opinionated comments. Thank you for listening.

Y’all have a fairly curated, systemic method going on where you always have the correct video with subs and always have some background info, yet some are STILL unhappy? There’s truly no pleasing everyone. I hope you don’t let complaints effect your experience! Also, I’m so happy to hear you’re continuing to only focus on BTS! So many channels have made a full switch to reacting to the whole industry after a year (often less) with BTS. (I do agree, though, that is interesting to see them interact with others in the industry.) Y’all are a fun, engaging channel, who comes across totally genuine in your interest in the guys. You really care about the experience of discovering BTS and are not just trying to farm subs/views as quickly as possible. Sometimes people are used to a different experience, but just keep doing your thing!
