SURPRISE EARLY ACCESS!! (PEOPLE P2)

Kind of late to this one because-life-but great reaction as always. It’s nice to hear your thoughts and perspectives. Just a note on one part of the song (though I could go on for quite awhile about People Pt 2- I wasn’t expecting it to be so lyrically rich as it is-it’s obvious why this was chosen as the pre-release track). The use of double negatives is a pretty common play with words in both poetry and music. Think of ”Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone” or “Can’t get no satisfaction”. By using a double negative, the writer is literally forcing their audience to view the statement in a “negative” light; it makes the statement convey a certain tone and force that saying “Everybody knows now” does not provide. “Nobody doesn’t know anymore”. This phrase carries a sense of loss or sadness. Almost like Agust D hoped that everyone DIDN’T have the knowledge, but now no one is able to live in blissful ignorance. Everyone is forced to know the truth about Time, whether they want to or not. Stephane Mallarme wrote that poetry is the use of language that calls attention to itself as language. There are so many cases, like this song, where this is especially apparent in BTS lyrics. I hope that sometime down the road you all can see some of the videos where RM and Suga especially talk about the language they chose in the lyrics they write; it really gives you a sense of just how purposeful they are with every. single. word. Just like with their dance choreography, BTS puts in a ton of effort, thoughtfulness, and time into their lyrics. Best wishes!

I’m with Daniel, I like Wild Flower more. This song hasn’t grown on me yet. I think mainly because of IU’s line. It is an awkward English phrasing in the song. Nevertheless, I’m so glad IU reciprocated the collab. I love her voice, and she truly is amazing. With that said… looking forward to someday seeing CCW checkout IU’s song Eight with SUGA. Also, I definitely prefer People (part 1) over this one- so looking forward to them checking that out too. I had hoped they had listened to that one first, and then this one. But it’s alright… all in due time. Maybe we’ll get a full album reaction someday 😉.

About the maturity, suga actually recently talked about how before his music was inspired by his ”anger” and how he didnt understand why people looked down on him so much and why bts was so hated on, he said that now hes more happy and mature and that reflects his music

I really reccommend that you guys watch the IU's palette episode. He did an interview with the featuring artist on her show. You guys would absolutely love it he answers all your questions and tells you so much more abt the story behind this song and many of his other songs and just gives so much insight abt so many things. I think IUs verse is just words, like guide lyrics, since this song is supposed to be "the progression of a song from start to finish". I know from other things I have read that he writes guide lyrics to play with melodies. I love everything about this song.

It's funny that you mention people who lived alone during Covid - I'm one of those people. I live alone, and the closest family member is over an hour and a half away. At the time, I was also considered high risk. My job is in live entertainment - I'm a professional stagehand, as well as a videographer and editor, so while I could get remote editing work, I basically did not leave my apartment or see anyone for months. I have a cat, so I at least had her. I found BTS during that time (although not until June of 2021) and was considered less of risk by the time they did Permission to Dance On Stage in LA, so my best friend who showed me BTS got us tickets and it was the first time during the pandemic that I finally started to feel like things might be okay. Thanks for the reaction, it was delightful ^_^

Yoongi and namjoon talked about fearing they will loose army when their schedules got cancelled one by one during covid and how they thought it’ll be over in the next month but kept getting postponed and eventually getting getting cancelled and these were the things they were working for over a yr before covid hit so I can understand how they all felt a sense of big loss

Note: BTS vowed if they ever got to perform on stage again they would perform "On" first. That's what they did at their L.A. and Las Vegas concerts. They finally got to perform it live for an audience!

Here is something you may not know. On February 24, 2020 BTS debuted "On" from their brand new album "7". They performed it on the Jimmy Fallon show at Grand Central Station. Ironically, it was the first time I saw them. I was overwhelmed. And started my daily consumption of BTS where I fell in love with them. BTS never got to perform "On" for a live audience even though they had prepared this song with very difficult choreography. Andvhad Prepared a whole concert set list with new songs from their album. They had booked a huge World Tour. I mean huge all over the world. But covid hit. Their tour was cancelled . Everything for them was cancelled. They all were devastated! And going back to this song they Lost everything. Their passion, their livelihood, their fans, their world Wide tour, their reason for living, their live performances. So when Suga said he Lost Everything. He did! The only good thing is...all the guys wrote heartfelt beautiful music with heartfelt lyrics that we are thriving on now. Also, their boss did something brilliant. He told the guys to go create their own album from concept to design to music to CD design to marketing to still shots to filming their own MV. JK even directed it. The album was "Be". So they did have something to work on, but they worked in it while grieving. Jin stopped doing Eat Jin. He lost his appetite. He said he slept for 12 hours then gamed for 12 hours. He got down to 120 lbs. They all suffered immensely! But now we rejoice in the rebirthing of Agust D. They have all Been reborn. JK is in L.A. working with Justin Bieber on a new song. Not kidding. V just revealed a song he wrote. A beautiful R & B jazzy song. He's written lots of songs. But thrown them all away saying they aren't good enough. Suga told him. Stop throwing them away. Just release an album with them. He still hasnt. Thanks for the surprise. You fans do Know you!

.Yes. The IU interview is great. But you don't really need to react to it. Enjoy on your own. When JHope came out with his album, she interviewed JHope too. Another good interview and good duets. Here is a fun fact you don't know. IU is JK's crush. He has always talked about her. He even attended her latest concert. I think he went 2 nights. I have a feeling he was jealous. So Yoongi has said that “Agust D” was born out of anger. He was angry with all the hate him and his members were getting for no reason and so he vented through Agust D. Now, he says he’s at peace and has forgiven those people so this side of him will rest. I’m just really glad he’s at peace of mind even though we know the haters will keep hating
