I just want to point out that compared to most western music or latin music (male or female) that I hear on a daily, "war of hormones" falls short and is not considered misogynistic or objectifying. They weren't trying to degrade, be disrespectful, or belittle women. They were simply showcasing the feelings of a teenager in that point in their lives but haters and the media just wanted a reason to target BTS. Over the years, BTS has been falsely accused of plagerism, misogyny, & chart manipulation. That why army is so protective because there are idols who've gone to prison for actually engaging in all those things as well as drvgs, traffick!ng, SA, or worse. So it's quite ridiculous to hold only BTS to such a standard but BTS & BigHit took these accusations to heart. In true "BTS fashion" they naturally took accountability, apologized and corrected themselves. Namjoon felt so ashamed that he even went as far to have discussions with women studies professors who now analyzes their lyrics. “Personally, I received a lot of criticism regarding misogyny in 2015 & 2016 which led me to get my lyrics reviewed by a women’s studies professor. It was an opportunity for me to self-reflect & question whether I’d been insensitive to gender equality.” It truly conveys what type of artist they are bc most won't even care to go as far to do half of what they did. Also, it takes a lot of guts to then, once more years later, sit with his country's head of state (Korean President) as a Diplomatic Envoy and acknowledge past mistakes on Live National American Television!

You guys are really good at analyzing this. I also love how you totally call everything before it happens. "oh, they're going to make him wear makeup", "oh, he's going to use the fish to put out the fire". You have really good intuition.

2023-02-19 06:06:34 +0000 UTCOkay so a little clarification, Kyoshi is a town affiliated with the Earth Kingdom. In the past, Avatar Kyoshi was an earthbender. So far, the war has mainly been between the Fire Nation, Water Tribes and Air Nomads because the Earth Kingdom has stayed out of the war (i.e neutral) as mentioned in this episode by the town head. The Fire nation is amassing towns regardless of anyone’s stance as well as towns with benders and towns with no benders. The Kyoshi we see here has warriors who don’t bend earth, but that does not mean that they didn’t have benders in the past that did or that they will not have any in the future that do. Overall, there are towns that have no benders and towns that do, and these towns can be affiliated with the Water Tribes, Air Nomads, Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation. Hope this helps with providing some context on why we see no benders in certain places and why we do in others 😊
