A LEAP OF FAITH | FULL Reaction Vox Machina Episodes 11 and 12

Honestly, if Vax told me to believe in fate and then was like "if that's our fate to die so be it", I'd beat his ass.

A LEAP OF FAITH | FULL Reaction Vox Machina Episodes 11 and 12

Comments

Finally got around to watching this and most of what I'd want to say has already been said by other commenters. I'm very happy you enjoyed this season and am myself looking forward so much to the next one! I don't know if there's been any official announcement on the number of VM seasons we'll get, but my estimation is that they could tell the remaining story well with two more. We'll see what we get.

My best (hopeful) guess is 5 seasons for VM, but 4 is more than I would have ever hoped for. The pick up of Mighty Nein gives me hope for a full, 5 season VM.

I'm very, VERY excited for season 3, but I also really do hope Vox Machina gets a 4th season. I feel like it needs that to truly cover what's coming, because if they tell the whole campaign, stuff gets more crazy than I think you could possibly imagine. But I won't say anything about it beyond this recommendation; don't dismiss any unanswered questions.

I feel like you'll probably like The Mighty Nein, it did take a bit to really get off the ground in the actual campaign, but a *ahem* certain major event I will not spoil, I feel gave it the kick it needed. At least, that's when it flipped for me. If you like very emotionally complex characters, some pretty intense grey areas, and a story that's pretty dang different from the "band of heroes," style of Vox Machina, you should enjoy it. They really flexed their role-playing muscles for that campaign so much it made Vox Machina almost feel like a warm-up. But if you don't end up liking it, that's cool too. Not every kind of story is everybody's cup of tea.

Post watch, what would be fun (for me and hopefully others) would be a watch/commentary of EXU Calamity. Set in the CR universe, run as a short shot by Brennan Lee Mulligan. Break it out however you want. No spoilers for the Vox campaign, but backdrop to the stuff Vax sees. With your RP and VA background, that would be a fascinating watch.

Yippie! Looking forward to watching this. Some thoughts ahead of watching. The irony of the "There's no such thing as luck" line is that Liam, Vax's player, had the Lucky Feat in the campaign and used in to no end repeatedly (up to the rules limit and Matt's patience as a DM who hates that feat, to which I agree). They seem to have transposed that to bending fate. Liam was also going through both physical and emotional issues at the time, with an incessant ear ringing/pain issue and dealing with his mom's lost fight with cancer. His emotions were raw and real. The armor was originally designed for another player to receive, but the death of Vex and Liam's response changed all of that. The designation of "Fate Touched" in Matt's campaigns is not insignificant or handed out lightly. Matt is on record as saying it was something he granted to Liam's Vax based on both his character's actions as well as what he knew Liam was going through at the time. It is a table of friends that are more than friends. It is why some many of us find so much joy in their games and stories. Sorry for running long, but you really seem to "get" so much of this, and that is meant as a high compliment.
