March 2024 update Part One

patreon has been refusing to post this update, or even save a draft. it deleted an earlier version and i had to redo the whole thing. im trying splitting it into two, since i cant imagine what the issue is, but maybe it was too big for one post? if this ends up posting, i guess that was the problem.

the crow cillers series finale is officially in development- ive got a few scenes done. i like to keep things a surprise, so nothing to share from that yet.. stay tuned for its release by the end of the year though!

if you missed it, last month i redesigned my website and added a new chapter to my comic angel chain. since youve had time to catch up on that now, how about some development art?

lets start with the big stars of the latest update- the triad synoptica.

here's some alternate names from when i was still figuring them out:

micah is a master of all things tabletop games. his phone of choice is the one designed for the matrix reloaded. his shirt is based on those old button up tribal pattern dragon flame gradient shirts from the 90s/00s. you know the ones i mean

ragnarok is a fighting game expert. he uses an n-gage as his phone. the stitching on the side of his pants forms the roman numeral XXXVII, or 37, in reference to the infamous "evo moment 37". his outfit is a bit inspired by the late animator monty oum. while ive never been too familiar with his work, i deeply respect it. animating fight scenes between your favorite video game characters so well that it leads to a career where you can create your own animated franchise and wear fingerless gloves in interviews is absolutely badass.

his angel wears a mask based on the wrestler mankind. the jacket was added to give more of a fighting game character energy to the mankind/slipknot vibe.

kennedy is a collectible trading card game wizard. her phone is not based on any particular design as far as i recall, and is instead unique due to her large collection of charms. A few of the charms include Fin Fin, howdy crittler from crow cillers, and my custom player character from a badly written but pretty fun south park game. kennedy's outfit features a keychain of gir from invader zim in his dog disguise.

kennedy's angel is based on kuriboh from yu-gi-oh, particularly the anime. kuriboh is an unassuming creature which can become a powerful swarm when combined with the right cards.

skullfuck pisschrist is not a member of the trio, but she has one of these images too, so here it is. she was introduced in the first chapter, but went unnamed until this latest update. her crass name is inspired by breakcore musicians popular on 4chan in the 2000s- she makes loud, abrasive music with pornographic anime samples. her name was also inspired by a famous photograph, and other 00s electronic music, such as the band combichrist and the :wumpscut: song christfuck. her phone is not based on any real one- its just shaped like a coffin.

the pigs were inspired by a goya painting.

who are these two mysterious characters? the one who appeared in a tube at the end of the chapter was influenced by many characters such as lucy from elfen lied, sephiroth from final fantasy 7, mewtwo from pokemon, and so on and so on.

the woman in a suit working for a corporation is also final fantasy 7 inspired- specifically, the group 'the turks'.
