I might get shunned but it’s worth mentioning BTS built HYBE through their hard work and dedication to be top tier for army. They carried an almost bankrupt label on their backs to build it up to a multi billion dollar “take over the world” label. I love them so much. They fight over snacks, ramen, and rice cookers. The fan chant depends on each songs (bighit or sometimes army releases fanchant guides for each song performance during comeback live), but the member's full name fanchant is always in the beginning of the song. I can't wait for the MMA 2020 performance reaction!

In Dionysus, the very high "sippin", "tippin", "grippin" is Jin. All the otherworldly screams throughout the entire song and the scream at the end are Jin, too. The glissando that starts at a D5 and slides to an F#5 is Jin. Plus some of the low notes (along with Tae) are Jin, also. He is the belting King!

The thing is that biggest artist like BTS always perform last so they have the longest (it’s like a privilege, not every artist gets this much timing) and the most epic stage. It’s also a way for the award show to keep viewers till the end of the show (many awards do this way cuz u know they want to keep the army who are the majority of viewers. There’re times we had to wait for 5 hours for BTS to perform) and honestly, if there’re still artists perform after such a grand stage, I don’t know how they would feel.

Trust me here, this is not a BTS concert, it's a awards show. They were the last ones to go on, ( can you imagine trying to follow this? LOL). They won best the yr. prior, so they got to end show this yr. Also, this was maybe the last time they had to prove them selves to anyone! There was no one who could deny them after this. The piano to Jimin's solo was the intro to I Need You. There is a short MV on you tube of suga playing that Daniel might like. I'll find the link and send it to you via message. Stage hands have nothing to do with scene changes during performance, it's all done by the back up dancers. In every show, everywhere. Back up dancers RULE! You will have to watch this last song ten times to catch it all. Have you figured out they dance like this and have air to sing yet? They had one on stage rehearsal with BTS and back up dancers, one tech rehearsal with costume changes, and one tech rehearsal which was done the AM of I would imagine, or, later at night, after the first show was finished, ( I believe this goes 3 nights. with the last night the actual awards handed out. I have been looking for ARMY who attended to explain all this, and I wish there was a show who asked BTS how they did all this, but so far I haven't been able to find one. ( Believe me, I have searched.) I wonder if I could ask you not to pause so much, and maybe take notes and go back? and to please not pause during Jimin, as you ruin the flow, and he is so unique both voice and dance. You guys are so much fun to watch and listen to. and you know, you can always go back, and re-watch with us later. Believe me, we are here to listen to you guys as well! Really loved watching you enjoy this.

I am always looking forward to your contents. :) Anyway, first few minutes i kept on hearing you refer to MMA and MAMA as their concert and I can't help but be amused. Both MMA and MAMA are Award Shows (Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards, respectively). However, BTS are not holding back at all in their productions at these award shows that it would seem like a BTS concert. A year ago yesterday & today, I watched their PTD concerts in L.A. Yes, I went to watch them for 2 nights. The anxiety from trying to get a ticket was very much worth it. Yeah, getting their concert tickets are called "Hunger Games". Anyway, I hope someday you will all have a chance to watch their live concerts. The energy is so unbelievable!!! AMAZING!!!

No attacking you but I do disagree that they will focus more on solo projects once their military service is done. I think they will be back in full swing as a group and have a lot of new material from being apart and from doing solo work now before their military service. They do not lie to ARMY or keep us uninformed when necessary. They said they will be back as a group in 2025 and that is what they mean.

A lot of this performance was recorded ahead of time and played at the awards ceremony. That is how they got the effects for Mikrokosmos, it was pre-recorded. All of the solo performances were pre-recorded except Jimin's. He wanted to do his live. Their solos were done to group songs just done with a more classical version. V danced to No More Dream, Jin danced to Danger, Jimin danced to I NEED YOU, Suga danced to FIRE, JK danced to SAVE ME, J-Hope danced to FAKE LOVE, and finally RM stamping the staff on the ground started DIONYSUS. The opening sequence through boy with love was live and Dionysus were live. You really should watch the rehearsal video and the making of video. Thanks for another awesome reaction. This was one of those performances where we all I believe collectively thought, they didn't need to go this hard and yet here they are proving to everyone why they are at the top of their game and why they are where they are. GOOD JOB FOR YALL! after this maybe you can focus on several music video or their personality for a while but if you want to watch another music show performance i recommend you to watch MAMA 2016 and MAMA 2018 (their performance, award speech and behind the scene) it gonna be lil overwhelming (as me being army is still overwhelming by the emotion even until rn). If you want to check out MAMA 2016 i think the music video you gonna watch first is Boys Meet Evil, Blood Sweet Tears and Fire, but if you want to check out MAMA 2018 first i think the setlist is similar with MMA 2018. I’ll start 1st by saying, I leave long a*s comments most of the time, so prepare 1) JK his performance in the water & I think V’s performance was actually taped prior to the award show, definitely JK’s was so he didn’t have to hurry and dry off, Melon filmed this perfectly, all seems live, which 99% of it is actually live, but just like their concerts, they have what is called VCR’s, like the video of them sleeping, all of that is taped, that gives them a chance to change quickly, and yes they do change quick, some of Mikrcosmos was CGI 2) the solo parts were not actually their solo songs, they each had did one of BTS’ songs over the years, - V danced to No More Dream - JK danced to SAVE ME -Jin danced to Danger- Jimin danced to I NEED YOU - Suga danced to FIRE ( what he says at the end is “I’ll forgive you” this video is awesome, she explains the meaning of this song if you want to watch it https://youtu.be/xtZ6Qztd8xM ) - J-Hope danced to FAKE LOVE and finally the leader kicked off DIONYSUS 3) The part where you called it a music break is actually called a dance break, which are always epic, well everything BTS does is epic let’s be honest, right! Their song N.O. was remixed in with DIONYSUS for the dance break, which no one ever either notices or just doesn’t comment on it, but I was impressed ALSO with when they were dancing in pairs, what RM and Jin when they go to the end, they both fall like you do, can’t think what it’s called, but it where you fall back trusting your friends to catch you, trust fall or something idk, anyway when they fall Jimin and V pop up like at the same time or sec. before they fall. Finally, (yes as I said it’s going to be long) MMA BTS is ALWAYS the last one, biggest epic performances always, that and MAMA both of these award show BTS puts on mini concerts like nobodies business, oh and 1 more award show, well actually 2, one that’s also epic are GDA “Golden disc awards” and TMA which is The fact music awards, not that epic of performances, but still so much fun cuz hey, it’s BTS, and yes those were other idols reacting to BTS stages at the award shows which they have video’s of idols reacting to other idol performances, GOT7 reacting to BTS are hilarious both groups are close friends, Jackson & Bambam are like #1 fans of BTS. Finally finally sorry, the two guys that were the 1st to pop up on the screen that surprised you, those were their dongsaengs ( younger sibling male or female, or if you want gender specific namdongsaeng which is younger brother - male ) from their record label, which are 5 members TXT or Tomorrow X Together ( Tomorrow by Together ) MAMA 2020 how can people have forgotten this epic stage from LGO Yoongi as a hologram, the Dynamite dance break, I always felt that MAMA was their knock down drag out epic mini concert award show, more elaborate than MMA ( as of this writing MMA was or has actually on for 2022, BTS was not there, no performance so didn’t even watch it, such a sad year these will be until BTS might perform like these epic shows again, personally I don’t think we will see anything like these last few years again, I think which don’t attack me, but I do not see BTS as a whole group that the next chapter are their solo careers with possibly a group farewell concert, or hopefully like GOT7, they come back and perform every so often, but more focus on solo careers, just some info I have gotten but I take all the info given to me by a grain of salt too, lots going on behind the scenes we do not completely know as of yet Now that was finally, finally, finally the end. This was the last performance of the night, no speeches or more awards, the show ended after this and I just stared at the screen for like a whole minute with my mouth open. 2020, 21, we had covid and no crowd, so there were more limitations. Their performances are still great tho. They always give their best. And this year, since it’s their slowing down on group activities, they won’t perform as BTS, BUT Jhope is performing on MAMA

This performance was EPIC! BTS made history in 2019 by sweeping all Daesang (grand prize) awards both in MMA and MAMA award shows, and of course, other award shows in Korea also. They debuted in 2013, only won their 1st Daesang in 2016. But by 2019, they are the artist with the most number of Daesang wins in Korean music history, and they still hold that position up to present with a total of 67 Daesangs in total (this number doesn't include yet the other awards they've won aside from Daesangs). Watching BTS live is never boring despite their many contents out in various platforms, because they always always always find a way to surprise their audience - dance breaks, effects, etc. They always give their 200% in every performance and they always keep it fresh. Mma 2019 is definitely one of my favorite performances. Just epic (you were on point, Abigail!)! I tend to watch this at least a few times a month. Lol! But if you ever wanna see what happens behind the scenes, they do have 3 Bangtan bombs dedicated to this performance: the behind the scenes of 2019 mma, the choreography to the dionysus intro, and the choreography to dionysus. And they’re all on the bangtantv yt channel. Would be cool to watch you guys react to them too, but even if you just watch it on your own time, I think you guys would enjoy it either way. I'm coming back now that I've finished watching this video. Great reaction. I like how you are all so thoughtful while watching, not only about the songs, but the choreo, music, meaning behind what they're doing, etc. Each member is meant to symbolize a different Greek god in their solos, which is why another light (or star) shone in the sky every time another member came out. -Jin is Ares, god of war, hence coming out on the Trojan horse -j-hope is Zeus, god of thunder, hence the lasers or lightning surrounding him -RM is Dionysus himself with his staff -Jimin is Hermes, the flying messenger, soaring through the air with his acrobatics -Jungkook is Poseidon, god of water -V is Apollo, god of the sun and the arts, hence that bright background and all of the twirling acrobats -Suga is Hades, god of the underworld, hence the fire. I look forward to whatever you guys will dive into next. There is a never-ending amount of rabbit holes to fall through when it comes to BTS. Personally, I hope we get to see you react to the MV for Spring Day + the Italian ARMY explanation of the video. It hits really hard and shows you what kind of men they are. Yes, MMA 2020 is worth watching. It doesn't quite have the same energy since there was no audience due to the pandemic & Suga was absent for months getting shoulder surgery (when they were trainees he worked a second job to make money delivering stuff on a bike I think & was hit by a car & crushed his shoulder. for years, he'd get shots in his shoulder before & after shows so decided during the pandemic to finally go for surgery). But yes it has a great Dynamite dance break, a beautiful Black Swan performance, and a performance of ON which was supposed to be the epic opening for their Map of the Soul 7 World Tour that got cancelled due to the pandemic. They also did Life Goes On from their Be album. That's their pandemic album - low key but great songs & lyrics that really captured the mood of that time in history.

About 90% of Kpop artists look up to bts and idolize them like there is another group called txt and they are in the same company they have some interaction like at award shows or just meeting in the company building going for lunch but they work in the same company yet there music is so different they have like a rock vibe and another group called stray kids form another company and there technically “competition” but stray kids love bts like they go on live sometimes are react to there new released mv’s and talk abt them and how impressive they are along with a LOTTTTTT of other groups also bts usually go last at award shows so they give them more time and they have to come up with something for that period of time so every year they always get a longer screen time so each year the performance level increases

This might have been mentioned already, but Jimin's solo stage song you liked was I Need You (the song is not a solo), I can't wait for you to watch this! 😊 This song changed the course of their journey at a time where they were considering disbandment due to lack of funds, I Need You got them their first major win. The actors and props you see in the MV are actually their own staff and the staff's vehicles (their director's vehicle gets a little messed up 😄) because they couldn't afford anything more. Please watch the Original Version when you do, the other one lacks certain scenes in the MV and this is the first BU content they released, so "everything's important!" (as we all know by now lol). 💜

I would recommend checking out the dance practice for the Dionysus MMA 2019 dance break, dance breaks for the songs period (just about all their big songs have dances choreographed specifically for them, i.e.--Boy With Luv), and if you're curious about other KPOP groups, I'd suggest TXT! They're in the same company as BTS and considered the "little brothers" but have their own style, story line, etc. They're a good jumping off point!! :D Thanks for watching!

All their performances were live, I know that. I just know that most that was broadcasted for the solo stages (and what the reactors saw) were pre recorded and Jimin’s wasn’t. This was a flex for BTS considering how the company started. You should consider checking out behind the scenes footage of the Dionysus practice for this show and dance practices in general. You get to see all the sweet choreography you missed during the show/ mv and get to see each of their dance styles... there are some pretty prominent practices. They're worth the time. J-hope has videos of him dancing/practicing on bangtantv "hope on the street" and vlive. There are official fan chants for each song btw. Just like the choro once you learn them, you'll have to sing/dance them. Your whole team is crushing it btw.

Everybody’s dance was live lol except jk stood on the side of the stage doing his dance while his video played since his performance with water would have been impossible w the time limitations… everybody else’s stages had so many moving parts , moving panels, multiple dancers, the light show for hobi … jimins was just him and the fabric lol but even his that we see is also including some of the prerecording. There’s fancams of the rest of them performing live but in different outfits bc they didn’t have time to make the outfit changes with all the staging and styling… so it’s okay to appreciate all of them doing their solos live … not just jimin

“He’s almost adlibbing” at the end of “boy with luv” Lmao actually jungkook is actually adlibbing and harmonizing with each vocalist on and off during that whole last part but not sure you caught his live vocals bc you stopped a few times in that section so it disconnected a lot of it … but the vocal run adlib in the music is also jungkook and the run at the end of “boy in luv” that summer was impressed by after all that dancing was jungkook live….. it’s like something he does a lot live if he’s the ending part of the song.. he did it at the end of boy in luv and boy with luv both… il love it… it sounds so satisfying!!! Also I didn’t mean this in a negative way about the pausing or anything I was just trying to explain the bits and pieces you guys were talking about at the pauses since it didn’t seem like you knew what was happening and what was different live than the original. That’s what we mean when ppl talk about jk adlibbing and harmonizing live…. He does so much more live that you can never hear in the music… he’s incredible at it… it’s so satisfying bc I love adlibs and harmonies!!! It’s how he became my bias lol but wow how incredible are each and every one of these guys?!? I mean any of them can make your jaw drop and cause you to smile ear to ear!!! They’re energy is something that comes from being the very special and hardworking artists that they’ve always been. Think they prepared for this for 3 months…. And the whole lead up to it just is incredible…. They really is no one doing it like BTS imo

I'm not sure if you'll be able to upload a reaction to youtube, but MAMA 2018 - their artist of the year acceptance speech is worth a watch. that was such an incredibly emotional MAMA. they first one artist of the year (the major award/daesang) in 2016, and again in 2017 (both MAMA performances are outstanding). But to win a third time was incredible. There are compilations of their award appearances with English Subs on youtube.

Haha so happy you guys finally got to watch this it is legendary! If you're planning on watching the 2020 MMA's (with the amazing dance break) there are only four songs Black Swan, ON, Dynamite and Life Goes On, the latter of which is the only one I think you haven't seen yet. Also, it is a bit different to their other shows since it's filmed during Covid times and thus an online show and Yoongi is missing there cause he was on a temporary break after his shoulder surgery. But it's still 'unforgettable' like this one!

Yup, you’re correct! Jimin’s solo was the only one that was broadcast/put on the screen as he was performing. RM, V, Jin, Suga, and J-Hope performed onstage while the prerecording was broadcast. Jungkook obviously couldn’t perform his solo onstage, but I did see a fancam of him in the wings dancing along with the prerecording. 🥰

Also the songs they did their solo performances on are not their solo songs. The one Jimin danced on is I Need You, it is the first song that brought well deserved recognition to BTS they were on the brink of bankruptcy at the time and I Need You became a huge hit and saved their band from disbanding. Also I Need You and Boy In Luv are two songs that I would love to have official acoustic versions of. We have gotten little bits of them in live performances but there's no official acoustic ver. to either of them. I mean just listen to the beautiful piano in this.

Hey! Watching the reaction, have to say for clarity - they often do use backing tracks, so often harmonies that you hear or high notes or even all the melody is the backing track (still usually not so loud, so you can hear them actually singing). With all the crazy choreography it is completely understandable. I dont know about western performances, but in Kpop its a norm, they usually use backing tracks in performances. But its used not because they cant sing smth, but to level up the performance and give it the right feel. Also - its normal than in cd version music has a lot of adlibs, harmonies etc. - a lot of going on, and you cant do it completely the same while performing. Especially while dancing like crazy.

I like how you watched/listen to the songs first it's original form prior to watching the live performances because you'll get to appreciate the remixes of those songs LIVE. BigHit likes to remix the songs for live performances, and it's such a treat because it's like a whole new song sometimes and it's always so refreshing! Best award show performance... i know BTS has a lot of content..but you should definitely check out other groups and korean artist, the level to artisty is above and beyond amazing. Groups: Monsta X, Txt, seventeen. Solo artist DPR Ian is amazing, woosung, Taemin, Eric Nam, just to name a few of my fave. Please check them out too it will definitely be worth it.

The songs that came out during the member's individual dance are arranged by BTS in the order of release. The song that came out when Jimin danced was an arrangement of "I Need You" on the piano. V - No more dream, Jin - Danger, Jimin - I need you, suga - fire, jk - save me, j-hope - fake love.

It's most evident with V and Jin, since they're in white for the official version on the screen, but performing in their black Dionysus outfits onstage. I wanted to double-check so I erased it from my initial post, but the first part of Persona was pre-recorded as well. Like the others, RM performed that part live as well, but you can only see that version through fancams (here's one: https://youtu.be/RFJUfPb_Cxg) I have so much respect for the effort that they put into these performances. The pre-recordings became necessary as the scale increased (can't have a pool of water in the middle of an awards show stage, lol), but the guys still perform onstage for the in-person audience. It's like you get the blockbuster movie and the intimate stage play all at once!

Jimin said he almost threw up by the end. You can see the fan cams and you will see them completely out of breath getting their seats and they won an award right after. I would highly suggest to see the dance practice on this and you will see insane details especially the backup dancers moving everything around. When I watched this I was stunned for a good few hours. I at least have seen this 100 times

Each awards show performance is a combination of three elements: 1) VCRs: non-performance elements (introductions, transitions, etc) that are shown on the screens during the actual show; these allow time for blocking, wardrobe changes, etc. 2) Pre-recorded performances: songs and other performance components that are recorded onstage at the venue in the days before the awards show (generally for logistical reasons); these are also shown on the screens during the actual show 3) In-show performances: songs and other performance components that actually happen during the show/in front of the audience The broadcast will show all three elements with the live audio, so the cheering you hear during a vcr or pre-recorded portion is the audience reacting to seeing it onscreen. For this show, iirc these are the pre-recorded performance components: Mikrokosmos, parts of the big Dionysus intro* and most of the Dionysus solos. However, BTS being themselves, they also performed most of the solos onstage while the prerecorded versions were playing on the screens. So there are two versions of those solo performances, the official pre-recorded ones and the fancams of the onstage performances. Boy in Luv, Boy with Luv, and Dionysus (including the N.O dance break and the part where RM walks with the thyrsus) were live in-show. As others have mentioned, we usually get an Episode (on BangtanTV) that shows behind the scenes preparations for the performance. * I still remember being on social media and hearing reports of horses at the pre-recording! :-D The seven lights that descended after the solo performances form the Crown of Ariadne constellation (in mythology, Ariadne was wife to Dionysus).

they release behind the scenes footage of performances in a package called Memories and for that year, we saw how after the performance, bts rushed to the back and totally collapsed from how tired they were. Some of them were heaving, others looked like they wanted to throw up, and they had medical staff giving them oxygen. This performance took a lot out of them

They not only have MMA performance but they have the MAMA as well. 2019 will always be my favorite and jimin solo is my favorite performance. I was sad for 2020 not only was there no live audience so it did not have the same energy but Suga was out with his surgery for an old shoulder injury he finally got repaired. Jhope will be performing a solo at MAMA this year and I am looking forward to that. RM solo album is released on 12/2 so that will be amazing as well.

Yes! I love love this reaction! I’ll never forget when this happened. I actually took a trip to LA (across the country from me) to see BTS perform at the 2019 Jingle Ball and this performance happened while I was there. I swear I watched it every day for a couple of weeks because it was so mind-blowing. It also had a ton of little Easter eggs like the lights that dropped down for each individual performance made the constellation called the Corona Borealis. It’s made up of 7 stars and symbolizes the Princess Ariadne in Greek myth, who married the god Dionysus. The constellation represents the crown that she wore at their wedding. There’s also a theory that each member was meant to represent a different Greek god or goddess or facet of Greek mythology. Obviously Jin with the Trojan horse. Another example is that Tae and Jimin were meant to represent the twins Artemis (Jimin-godess of the moon and hunting) and Apollo (god or music/archery/poetry/lotsa things actually). I will never forget the 1st time I watched this. I remember my heart was beating so fast by the end of Dionysus. It is one the reason why people love watching reactors so much because you want to recreate the feeling of seeing it for the 1st time again. This never gets old. Ok I absolutely love your video editor 😂💜. oK for the Asian awards, esp. Korean, they will have some parts pre-recorded when BTS (or other artist it isn’t just for BTS’s performances) go a day or two before and they film the performance with all effects and lighting and such, and they broadcast that in the set when the artist needs to go change and when the stage needs to be set…. Many times they will allow some fans to be there for the taping. During the actual award show, the artist will come out and perform live and then go change when the pre-taped segment is shown on TV and on the monitors in the venue and then they will get in place for the next “live” segment: sometimes they just use VCRs (the little mini movie looking clips like the intro with them sleeping) and sometimes depending on how much needs to be changed and the logistics they will also insert pre-taped performances. For this show, the BTS members actually came out and performed their solos LIVE while the pre-taped elements were broadcasted , but Jungkook did his without the water for the live show. Mikrokosmos was pre-recorded and produced with the overlays, that is when they changed and then they each came out and did their solos (most of them in the black suites for the ending song) except Jimin who had slip over Dancer pants over underwear/shorts and dance shirt that he switched to his regular clothes between his solo and Dionysus. Fancams show the guys dancing solos in their black suits instead of the white that V, SUGA, and Jin were seen in during the clip… and Jungkook in his Dionysus clothes instead of what he danced in the water in, There are other award shows where fans took video of them coming out to perform live during the pre-taped segments and then getting in place for the next live, so they pretty much performed the whole thing live anyway, and Dionysus live is AMAZING! Thanks for reacting!!! Y’all are awesome! And yes those are all sample/remixes of their other songs. We have begged BigHit/Hybe to release an album of the award show and concert remixes LOL.💜

I’m so glad you guys enjoyed this so much - it is definitely epic! There are a few portions that were pre-recorded: RM’s Persona, Mikrokosmos, most of the solo performances, and the intro to Dionysus (for safety reasons due to the horses). I believe Jimin pre recorded his solo, but then had time to do it live so he went out and performed. The behind the scenes are up on YouTube if you’d like to watch to react or just for fun on your own time. Look for the version on the Bangtan Subs channel as it’s from before the time subs were included on BangtanTV uploads. There’s a lot of fun details in the performance that I’m not very well versed on, but the lights that drop down form a constellation and during Dionysus each of the members represent a Greek god. All Army love the fan chants and are very enthusiastic with them, but KArmy take them to the next level. They are amazing with the fan chants! MMA 2022 was actually a few hours ago. The guys did not attend, but did win 4 awards including a daesang for Record of the Year. It is common in SK to use AR (augmented reality) during performances like they did for Mikrokosmos. BTS used it a lot for their online ON:E concert in 2020 and the awards shows used it a lot in 2020 as well, especially MAMA (I think in an effort to offset not being able to have a live audience). Seeing the amount of production put into stages compared to what we do in the US for major awards shows really opened my eyes to how far behind we are with a lot of things and how little effort a lot of Western artists put into their craft. Since finding BTS I’ve really upped my standards for what I expect from an artist. They have literally NO bad songs (except for ON ft. SIA, but we don’t acknowledge its existence since the original is amazing). I don’t expect every artist to put on amazing over the top performances like BTS, but I realized that a lot of artists get a lot of praise and fame for doing the bare minimum. I just love what BTS puts out into the world. They don’t just TALK about trying hard, they actually DO it. And the way they tackle real life issues in their lyrics without resorting to the sex, drugs, and violence tropes that so many other artists use is refreshing. I’m excited to see what you guys will watch next! I have my suspicions 👀, and if I’m right it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Ah finally a reaction to the 2019 MMA’s! You guys were so cute all open mouthed and excitedly watching the performances, very ARMY of you. Making us proud of being their fans is what BTS does best ;) The solo stages were not solo songs but snippets of songs that somehow had a big impact on their journey as a group. - No more Dream (V’s solo stage) is their debut song from their first mini album in 2013. - Danger (Jin’s solo stage) was the chosen single from their first full album in 2014. - I need you (Jimin’s solo stage) is a song that had a huge impact on their career. - Fire (SUGA’s solo stage) also was a big success, went viral in Korea and Asia. - Save Me (you guessed right) (Jungkook’s solo stage) is also one of their biggest songs ever. - Fake Love (J-hope’s solo stage) had a big impact in skyrocketing their career globally, especially in the US market, alongside with DNA in 2017. All these together were telling us a story of their amazing journey as artists. And the closure with Dionysus (with a dance break of a new version of N.O - one of their oldest songs as well), was very well done. BTS swept all the awards that year, and with reason. You guys asked if other K-pop artists are capable of doing what BTS does and with impact, and they are not. There’s a reason why BTS keeps being called the best in the industry. It’s because they are. Them and their production team went all out for this performance. And their concerts are also so so fun to watch. They truly are amazing, charming, talented and fun performers. Again, you should really watch one of their live concerts to see so for yourselves what I’m talking about (my suggestion is their latest released one, although from 2019, Love Yourself: Speak Yourself - The Final, In Seoul. It’s… I have no words to describe how perfect it is. AND at these concerts you also get a glimpse at their solo performances that happen in between one or two group songs each). The MMA’s 2020 is unique and beautiful in its own way too. It’s not as huge as this performance was because for one there’s no live audience due to COVID, and we know ARMYs fan chants are a big part of each BTS performance because it makes everything all the more impactful and beautiful to see. The guys are always talking about how much they enjoy seeing army live on stage, we are their rechargers you know? So, although it was sad ARMY were not physically there to sing along to the songs with them but the MMA’s 2020 was still very incredible in its own. I know people were telling you guys about the break dance at the end but for me the most beautiful was their Black Swan performance. I’ve never seen any group do something like that. Thank you for the morning gift. "Dionysus" is the best live performance at an award show. EVER! Not only do you have BTS and their amazing vocals and dancing, but the crew. I have never seen backup dancers/stagehands pull off both choreography and prop-moving. THE GREATEST!!! Btw, there are dance practices for each part of this award show performance. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this but it never gets old! So Daniel, you won’t see it for the first time ever but you will enjoy it over and over again! The songs you heard during each solo dances: No More Dream (their debut song), Danger, I Need U (there is a video of Suga playing the piano and JK dancing!), Fire, Save Me, Fake Love, RM walked out to Dionysus intro I think… They are in order of their release. Also MMA 2022 day 1 just happened overnight and BTS as a group did not attend but Hobi will perform Day 2 of MAMA (Wednesday). For MMA, only Koreans can vote whereas MAMA, everyone can vote and it was intense! BTS did pick up another Daesang (their 67th) and they did a whole tribute to their history. There are so much live performances to check out… Burn The Stage, Bring The Soul, Break the Silence (concert footage plus behind the scenes): Permission To Dance LA (on Disney+), Yet To Come in Busan (most recent), and of course JK’s performance and MV for FiFA WC called Dreamers. I’ve no doubt you guys will get to these over time. I watched part of the MMA 2022 and it wasn’t the same without our boys. Thank you so much for your reactions!

FYI: MMA 2019 was the Best Performance show of BTS that they won 4 major award or in Korea they called it Daesang Award. They Won Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. They are the 1st artist who got that award. And today MMA 2022 they won a Record of the year award and they call the BTS as “Worldwide All Time Legend"

I loved seeing your reactions... you were all more verbal than my first time watching it. I just sat in silence for about an hour in disbelief. An award show!... I am from the US... and we should be embarrassed! A few answers for you. Yes, Suga wrote the piece that Jimin danced to... you can find it on YouTube. Sugar and RM write most of the songs and Suga produces. JHope wrote Dionysis with RM. Each member was one of the Greek Gods... I can't remember them all, but a google search will clarify. I also heard that they have said that MMA 2019 was to be their last performance before taking an extended break and re-evaluating their directions, but then Covid happened and we were blessed with 3 more years of content and songs propelling them even more to the global stage. I also think I remember seeing that awards were given after this performance...BTS won them all... sweating and still out of breath! Thank you for this reaction!

If you watch the Behind the Scenes for 2p19 MMAs, you'll see the prerecorded parts - like Mikrokosmos. They are very enlightening to watch anyway. It's not even BTS concert. It's an award show lol BTS always gives their all on these award shows showing everyone how amazing they are. Korean award shows always put the most popular artists at the end of the show and give them more amount of time than other groups. This performance was the last one before they announce who the Artist of the Year is, and of course it was BTS <3

You can see the behind video on bangtantv youtube channel. Search for Episode MMA 2019. And Mikrokosmos is pre recording, so in the award show it was show through screen while the boys preparing for dionysus. Same with MMA 2018, Airplane part2 also pre recording, if I remember correctly. Sorry for my bad english, 😅

Do J-Hope's Lollapalooza performance. He was the first one to break off with solo work and go to perform at Lollapalooza, the full performance is over on Bangtan TV & it does go over an hour (1:15 ish) So if you do react to it, you can break it up however you want if the hour is too long.

Songs have Official Fanchants that are put out by the company. For people going to the BBMAs, we got the Boy With Luv fanchant a few weeks before the BBMAs in 2019. But for 2018, we only got the Fake Love fanchant less than 48 hours before the show. I remember staying up late in my hotel room trying to learn the Korean parts. There are always KARMY who put out guides to help, though.

Big Hit usually releases the fan chants at the same time as the new song or album. Ahead of the performances. Army learns it, and chants at the appropriate places during the performance. Sometimes it’s a word, sometimes a phrase. There are times that Army makes up a chant as well, like the one for JK, which is adorable. (As for the hand sign which is a gun, they later started using the I love you sign too)

As other comments said, for these award shows when artists perform more than one song they record previously some of the songs and add some effects like the galaxy effects. All groups do that. Each solo performance was a remix from an older BTS song V’s was No more dream Jin’s was Danger Jimin’s was I need U SUGA’s was Fire JK’s was Save me Jhope’s was Fake love RM’s was Dionysus 2019 was the year when they really blew up with success internationally, particularly with Boy With Luv which is a sequel from Boy in Luv

After going through a whole year last school year getting my 4th and 5th graders ready for the National Mythology Exam, I have listened to so many Greek and Roman names - and have done my best to pronounce them correctly. For Dionysus, there's 2 ways - but just remember that the 1st and 3rd syllable will get the same vowel sound. So: Dye-uh-nye-sus (my students' opt out version for the year) or Dee-uh-nee-sus. The pain of saying the same name differently for a month until your brain finally gets it is still fresh.

You guys probably know that V (Tae) and Jin are celebrating their birthday in december, so I would like to suggest Stigma and Singularity for Tae (I read somewhere that V‘s highnote in Stigma might be the highest note in all of BTS songs) and Epiphany and Moon for Jin. EDIT: V‘s Stigms high note was a D5, it is tied with Jins Triple High Note in Crystal Snow (G5) and Jimins High Note in Let me Know (G5), the highest Note BTS has ever hit was V‘s High Note in a Practice Video (trying to figure out which one) at D6.
