Thank you for catching the plate armor stealth joke, lol! In the campaign, Pike's terrible stealth rolls were absolutely a running bit. kla-klunking down every hallway. Currently of the reactions I've watched, you win at calling that Kaylie is Scanlan's kid by a long shot! The way it played out in the game was fascinating - Matt as the DM basically just laid out a trap for Scanlan to walk into. Up until then in the game, he had really just purely been played as a joke character, and when that reveal happened, you could suddenly see things get real for Sam (who's a dad in real life) as he realized his choices for the lols actually had deep consequences.

So I did actually restrain myself yesterday and only watched the video now! I don’t actually have that much to comment about for these episodes, except that they are just awesome. Seeing Grog in his element, the speech he held in front of the Herd, the battle, finding his own strength again — I just loved the whole thing. There is a little more nuance to the internal politics of the Herd in the original campaign, it’s one of the parts they cut down for time. It’s funny how early you went „Scanlan, is that your kid?“ about Kaylie. That scene is so uncomfortable to watch, especially when you already know who she is, but I think that was fully intended and it starts a very interesting storyline I’m excited to see animated.

Gross or not, it was a way she knew for a fact she could make him vulnerable. And the only one joking in that scene was Scanlan, because that's who he is. She was deadly serious when she wasn't bantering to keep up pretense, and when she revealed who she was there was quivering anger in her voice. This wasn't really "played for laughs," in my mind. The only part that might be a little iffy to me was the, "wait, I'm daddy?!", kinda jokey line. And I find it hard to fault even that, because that just feels like how Scanlan would react to the realization he's looking at his daughter. Possibly even joking as a way to, either consciously or subconsciously, lighten the air as a way to desperately comedy his way out of danger.

And considering that I've been replaying fire emblem 3 houses where the exact same thing happened to a character named Dorothea and it was absolutely NOT played for laughs.

These were some of my favorite episodes from this season! The action was exciting and well animated, our boy Grog got some self actualization in, and Percy's big gun got to do something for a change. The only part I really didn't like was how Scanlan finds out who Kaylee is. That was gross.
