New Poll!! To MMA or not to MMA, that is the Question

We have a VERY important but SUPER simple poll which will have a PART 2. Let me explain -
A few community updates ago, we mentioned our desire to react to a major live performance, specifically an awards show. Since then we've seen a whole slew of different recommendations here on Patreon. So like everything else, to help narrow it down we decided to do a poll.
This first poll is just to select WHICH award show performance(s) to focus on first. Once there is a winner, we will have a follow up poll to decide the different years. We will react to the top 2 winners
EXAMPLE: MAMA wins this poll, so we do a follow up poll with all the MAMA performances. 2016 & 2018 have the most votes. From there, we will react to the TITLE TRACKS first, and then watch the performances.
Hope this makes sense.
Disclaimer - We would like to begin these reactions as early as next week. As many of you may have seen, we were planning to get to RM content next week. Several Patrons and ARMY have told us about special content that RM will be releasing at the end of this month. We decided that it would be a great time to revisit RM specific content. But don't worry, we are still doing the RM videos that won the poll : )

Also, because you are going to check the MV first of the songs you'll see that some of them have back stroy, part of the BTS Univers. The presentations follow a bit (or a lot😂) of the story line. Also you can see the progress of each year 💪🏻 I have a favorite year but I think that all are amazing for the concept, the year, the songs. Each MMA have something special. Hope you enjoy it. I’m 52 and have been a ARMY since 2021.. and I have found out watching from the beginning should me who they were and how they have grown into the 7 wonderful men we have grown to love today.. in between .. watch their other shows.. its a wonderful ride!! So here’s a one minute video from BTS telling us the Korean phrase they most want their audience to know: https://youtu.be/dG4a5QxoGwE Also, it seems like you 4 are edging closer to being Army (pretty sure Abby is there already!) so now seems the opportune time for you to perhaps learn the most important fan chant - the members Korean names. https://youtu.be/05lut4f1ISA This video teaches how to properly pronounce the BTS members Korean names. It’s taught in the fan chant order - leader RM first, then in age order oldest to youngest. The video also demonstrates the Korean way to pronounce V & Maknae (sorry if we really should have given you this information sooner 😅)

2022-11-09 19:19:29 +0000 UTCOne thing I would add to this is seeing BTS' rise to success chronologically can be a great way to showcase their growth, but I also think it puts reactors into a box where it's hard for them to make spontaneous decisions because they're held to a schedule. It's also not how a lot of army's experience bts when they first discover them, at least for me I jumped around everywhere depending on my mood and what was recommended to me, but it all builds up into a deeper understanding of their history and growth. Watching the awards chronologically would also mean it would be weeks before we got to fan favourites like MMA 2018 and 2019. Like you said though, any bts is good so whichever ones they decide to go with I'll be happy!

I know a lot of people will ask for 2019 straight away but if you want the whole experience and want to appreciate the journey, go with at least 2018 first! By the time you get to 2019, yourselves and everyone will be so HYPE!

One thing I would recommend, is that you don't react to MMA 2019 first, even though I'm sure it's what a lot of people want. The only reason I say this is because it's seen as one of THE top performances they've ever done, so I feel like it's one you should work yourselves up to after seeing some of their other (still incredible) performances from earlier years. We'll be happy with whatever you decide to put out though :)

But for sure, three of the iconic BTS performances are MAMA 2019, MMA 2018 and MMA 2020, in no particular order. I included MMA 2020 because you can actually hear the songs without the loud screams (it was filmed at the height of CoVid). I should warn you that while watching the videos, you constantly have to remind yourself that these are award shows, not an actual BTS concert. You'll understand it when you watch the videos.

It's no wonder people mistake their award show performances for concerts because of how intricate, long, and how robust the crowd is. I wouldn't mind seeing you watch the MMA in order of the year. They are all a must-see.

As Army’s we get so excited and can’t wait for our fave reactors to get to experience epic BTS moments so I think we forget that as more knowledgeable Army’s, we should guide them in such a way to maximise their viewing pleasure. Not ours. Theirs. MMA2019 might be Army’s fave but is it the right one for them to see right now?

And the US award shows have not prepared you 🤣 I know 2019 is going to win because It is so special and I don’t think everyone is taking into account the experience for the watcher. Ya que gran parte de la discografía de BTS está en trilogías y eras, es importante tomar esto en cuenta al momento de consumir su música o sus presentaciones en vivo en entrega de premios. La evolución musical y escénica es bastante interesante. Recuerdo que Daniel dijo al principio de sus reacciones que primero querían escuchar un poco la música antes de reaccionar a la guía de los miembros de BTS y después de hacerlo ustedes dijeron que había sido la mejor decisión, pues siento que esto es muy parecido a eso. La presentación de MMA del 2019 es IMPRESIONANTE en cuanto a lo visual, la coreografía y toda la producción qué hay en los escenarios pero lo que la hace realmente INCREÍBLE es conocer todo el contexto musical qué hay detrás, el poder apreciar cómo fusionaron su pasado y su presente en esa presentación y lo que significó la era de Map of The Soul: Persona (el EP que están promocionando en ese momento) para el grupo, los fans y la industria del K-pop y global en general. Yo conocí a BTS en octubre del 2019, sólo dos meses antes de esta legendaria presentación y recuerdo que fue muy apabullante y obvio que me impresionó, pero no fue hasta tiempo después, que me familiarice con la discografía y que vi presentaciones anteriores que realmente supe lo extraordinaria que era. Al final de cuentas no creo haya manera correcta e incorrecta de ver el contenido de BTS, lo que si es que en mi humilde opinión hay una manera de maximizar la experiencia para poder apreciar mejor el contenido y todo vuelve al punto de partida: Orden cronológico.

It would be much more fulfilling enjoying the journey instead of jumping straight to their best performance. Plus you’d see just how much the quality and budget increases when they’re given the time and space. Also I want to note for MMA 2019 they just got done wrapping up their tour and they had 2-3 months to practice and get ready for the performance. MMA 2019 is easily one of their best performances with 2020 and 2018 right behind. And they perform at an award show for 40 minutes at MMA 2019. Also once you get a chance MAMA 2016 is a must

I prefer 2020, it's stunning and I think the songs they perform would be more to your taste/familiar at this point

2022-11-09 15:11:10 +0000 UTCreally you’ll probably watch them all eventually and personally i think its better to first watch the related songs MVs (maybe dance practices too which r amazing if you like the choreo) bc the award shows dont really hit as much unless you’re familiar with the songs. another note, personally, i think its good to try and watch things as chronologically as possible bc then you’re exposed to their growth and it also makes you understand the “classics” of bts which, like i mentioned before, really enhance their live performances then. but! at the end of the day any bts is good! :D

2022-11-09 15:03:19 +0000 UTCI would say the MMA you are almost completely ready for is MMA 2020 since you’ve listened to all the songs except Life Goes On. It doesn’t have an audience because Covid and Suga is missing because of shoulder surgery but the performances are fantastic nonetheless. 2019 is arguably the best of the best and I would hold off a bit because it has such great call backs to other songs and you have only seen one of the songs they perform. Honestly, getting deeper into their discography will enhance the MMA 2019 experience IMO. Whatever you do can’t wait for you to experience the BTS award show magic 💜

Also I can’t believe you guys haven’t reacted to Blood,Sweat & Tears. That song is phenomenal and was the first song to launch them into international success
