As everyone hopefully saw in our post yesterday, the plan was to release the Dynamite video tomorrow however, we weren't able to get passed the Youtube block unfortunately. We do plan on going back and trying again but wanted to move on since there are several other videos to edit.
One thing to keep in mind - This recording is older, and it's definitely noticeable when it comes to our lack of knowledge on a couple of things (you'll see what I'm talking about when you watch the video 😅). Kind of makes us afraid to ever go back and watch our first video haha.
Hope you guys enjoy and I hope you don't mind the slight curveball : ). We'll be back with more this week, stay tuned!

I am sure there has been ARMY’s who are guiding you well. For just 1 Song there is like 10 ( if not more) different live performances done, but all so entertaining and amazing. I follow a couple of Reactors to BTS, who joined Army in 2017, and still haven’t gotten to the bottom of the rabbit hole yet.

2022-10-25 20:20:19 +0000 UTCit's funny that you say that it's probably not gonna sound like polka... the closest to that kind of genre is trot music from korea. suga and jhope created a fun song in that genre called otsukare and they both performed it in a fanmeet concert. then, all 7 did an OT7 performance of it. it's a fun, light video that you can check out! :)

Michael Jackson’s nephew Taj posted about Dynamite, appreciative of the tribute BTS pay to MJ, particularly through the choreography. I watched the MV and thought it was ok. Most acts do well in music videos so it wasn’t until I saw them perform Dynamite at the 2020 VMAS that I realised they are something special. Anyway, that’s how I fell into the rabbit hole. Since then I have consumed as much BTS content as I could. As a fan of Michael Jackson I’m always happy to see BTS liking, talking or dancing like him. I’m moved that their admiration for him is constant and that it started early. In a pre debut video from December 2012, (available on BangtanTV YouTube https://youtu.be/e3gdCnsHWU0) RM takes the viewer on a tour of their studio all whilst rapping to a song ‘Let’s introduce the Bangtan Room’. He raps about various hip hop artists and rappers. The camera pans to a Michael Jackson doll (which lives in their studio) as RM raps about Michael Jackson & Beat It. Suga later tweeted several times photos of the MJ doll. And V hold the MJ doll in a vlog in early 2014 https://youtu.be/xCNYWPA0OAU There are many other MJ references over the years but I’ll just mention one more. In early 2018 JHope & Jimin hosted a MTV Japan special where they selected 10 songs from various artists. Of the 10, 2 were by Michael Jackson, who JHope says they “revere”. He chose You Are Not Alone and Jimin chose Man in the Mirror https://www.bangtansubs.com/videos/2018/4/3/180403-mtv-select-10-j-hope-amp-jimin Jimin mentions how after watching a documentary about Michael Jackson, he did more research as he wanted to know what MJ thought about stirring peoples emotions. This makes me feel like BTS definitely see Michael Jackson as a mentor for not just music or dance but on a philanthropic level as well. To me, BTS have talent in bucket loads like MJ has, but they also incorporate humanitarian efforts like their work with UNICEF. RM in one interview mentions MJ’s Heal the World. Even as ambassadors for Hyundai - there’s an element of environmental protection BTS include (MJ had a song Earth Song - a massive hit in UK/Europe but ignored in the USA). Both MJ & BTS - at the height of their popularity- took/take time to deliver messages that they think the world needs. That this motivates their decision making rather than chasing commercial success is very admirable.

Because you guys need to see their MMA performances to see just how much of a big production BTS puts on when they perform and mind you these are just award shows. For MMA 2019 they performed for 40 minutes at an Award show. Also when you get a chance react to 2018, 2020 and MAMA 2016 live performances. Also when you guys do get to MMA 2019 a reminder that some parts are pre-recorded but majority of the performance is not. Jimins part is very much LIVE. For MAMA 2020 they rented out a stadium to perform ON. It was like a halftime performance at the superbowl

Their three completely English songs are Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance - and they were released in that order and all during the height of the pandemic. They released them to try and keep up the spirits of Army. Dynamite was their first song to hit number 1 on the Billboard charts so it's no wonder that you may have heard it. They didn't write any of their English songs, in fact, Ed Sheeran wrote Permission to Dance. I highly recommend that you watch their shooting sketches on their YouTube channel - BangtanTV. The shooting sketches show behind the scenes of their music videos. V - Often sings with deep baritone raspy voice and often seen giving smoldering looks while not smiling much in music videos. 3. Jin - worldwide handsome often heard singing strong high powerful tenor voice parts of songs. 4. Jimin - Often heard having high soft tenor voice like Michael Jackson. 5. Suga - Often a fast rapper and has gummy smile. 6. RM - Often raps with deep aggressive raspy sound and is the tallest member. 7. J-hope - Unique rappong style and often smiles and is the sunshine of the group. You guys are musicians so paying attention to their distinguishable vocals will help you quickly identify them in no time.

When I first listened to these songs, the deep meaning completely flew over my head. Beautiful to see them standing by their values 10 years later. They started off with the message of not letting people of power control them. And now, they again took matters into their own hands and enlisted on their own terms, since the government kept dragging their feet and holding the chance of exemption over their heads for years, while squeezing out whatever benefits they could get from the boys. 💜

2022-10-20 00:34:28 +0000 UTCForgive me for repeating but I must stress it is so so important to watch all of BTS’s official documentaries (burn the stage, bring the soul, break the silence) which I believe most can be downloaded/streamed on Weverse and even on YouTube premium from their on Bangtantv channel. Most of the fan made compilation videos you see on YouTube is taken from these three main documentaries. The only unofficial BTS documentaries that I’ll highly recommend is The Rise Of Bangtan ~ written by a dedicated army herself Aneesa, it’s such a high quality extremely well made and no nonsense documentary she spent 4 years producing this for the world to learn who BTS are as people and as artists and it is thoroughly enjoyable to watch as well 💜

Their excuse was always "BTS don't sing in English" even though it was clearly the racism and xenophobia. BTS did Dynamite to prove a point. And boy did they not. The radio couldn't say the same excuse and they HAD to play it. Dynamite became a massive hit and was played literally everywhere, while a plethora of new fans joined the ARMY. Before Dynamite, the ARMYs were shunned when they requested songs from radio DJs. BTS's CDs which were sent to radio stations were found in junkyards and yard sales - unopened. Believe it or not, ARMY used to send gifts to the radio DJs who took in the requests and actually played songs of BTS. That's how rare it was. If you watch xCeleste's hardship videos some where in the future, you might see a glimpse of things US media has said and done to BTS. Even recently, an American radio DJ publicly said BTS fans should stop asking for BTS songs and he will never play them because he hates BTS. :/ After their album released (Map of the Soul 7 - which is a freaking masterpiece) and their tour in 2020, BTS planned to "take a break". But Covid hit so they had to cancel the tour, but they didn't want to disappear on ARMY during the tough time either. This is when they got Dynamite. As you might know now, BTS write and produce their own stuff. Dynamite was not touched by ANY of the BTS members. It was purely a track by American writers and producers and they didn't change it one bit. A very simple, generic pop tune - something general public and radio favors. They recorded it in July and released it in August. Two birds with one stone! BTS was ignored by Grammys ALL these years but with Dynamite's success, Grammys had to nominate them for something, so they included BTS for the Best Pop Duo/Group category in 2020. Of course they didn't win - they were used as eye candy for the ceremony and Grammys gave the award to a song that made 0 noise just because the artists of that song were darlings of the voting committee - of old white men.

Dynamite was a massive hit especially in U.S. when it came out, it's been played a lot in the radio, mall stores, sometimes used as background music in award shows.. etc. That might be the reason why it's so familiar to Daniel. Dynamite came out in the peak of Pandemic, it was fun and uplifting, it makes you smile amidst the anxiety of the whole Covid situation, that's why there were a lot ARMY who became ARMY in 2020! And that includes me! That's what got me into BTS and it will always have a special place in my heart. 💜 Can't wait Proof Live reaction next!!! 💜

When they do the key change all of Army thinks the green pasture looks like teletubie land :) :).....There were sooooo many Dynamite performances and my favourite is when Suga was a Snowman in the xmas special. He was out for about six months because of serious shoulder surgery and in the performance they replaced him with a snowman...when his lines came up the members danced in a line with snowman suga front and center. RM even changed the line of "Ladies and gentlemen, I got the medicine" to "Ladies and gentlemen, I got the snowman" It was fun. 2022-10-19 14:36:34 +0000 UTCSo, I liked Dynamite at first listen because I thought the song just sounded fun. And I didn’t like Butter when it first came out ‘cause I thought it was silly. Now, I kinda feel the reversal about the two. I think the reason people say it’s not representative of BTS is because the songs are not written by them and many have pointed out, it was done to get into the US mainstream. Now, for me the first verse to Dynamite is annoying word salad: …King Kong, kick the drum Rolling in like a Rolling Stone… Jump up to the top, LeBron Ding-dong, call me on my phone Ice tea and a game of ping pong Ha? Hahaha. I feel like this verse is meaningless. Every time I hear these lines I think about RM’s Joke where he makes fun of rappers for randomly putting out words that are all meaningless and consider it good rap. Anyhow, that’s my two cents. I still listen to the songs, but I’m with a lot of people on the 3 English songs. I will say these are still better than ON feat Sia 😂.

And since you enjoy Dynamite, the performances are even better. Once you work up to it Permission to Dance is on Disney+ and it’s not to be missed. I got to see them in a vegas and it was an amazing experience. Their Korean songs are more my speed but I appreciate these songs for what they are and the joy they gave to people. Please forgive me if you have read this comment already but I feel pretty strongly about it. Everyone rags on Dynamite, Butter, and PTD, saying that they aren’t representative of BTS. But I disagree! Heartily! Every single song, every single genre, every single era, is representative of BTS. These songs came at a time where the whole world needed something to lift them up. And that’s what the purpose was in these songs. They weren’t planned. But BTS did what they needed to do in the Covid circumstances. I am offended when I hear people say that their English songs are not as good as their Korean songs. And you hear so often that they never should have made English songs. That it’s a copout. But I don’t know why English songs are a copout, and Japanese songs aren’t. I love them all, and I think they should all get their due. What IF, they choose a day , this way , every week , they can react to one episode of , we can start with In the soop season1, then 2, bon voyage, run bts. Let’s say if they react 3 days a week , they can say ,ok. Every Wednesday or whatever they choose it’s for in the soap , that way in a month they’ll be done with the season 1 and they’ll learn wayyyyy more that would never imagine. I really hope they can see the comments. Borahae.💜💜💜💜
