These areas will be accessible only during recess! The playground really gave me a hard time. I've also implemented the introduction to the Giraffe Classroom (screenshot 1). It's the most "grown-up" space in the school, though that doesn’t mean much when you have to wear diapers and trace letters. I thought it would be cool to include a variable that acts as an "Alignment Meter" with the Hive system. It would be influenced by responding positively to the methods of the teachers or nannies or by impressing certain characters (for example, going potty in front of Ms. Sharpe on day 2). It's still mostly an idea, I need to go back through the dialogue choices on days 1 and 2 to implement this point system, and I also need to find a way to display it graphically in the menu. I sketched all the girls, along with Ms. Sharpe, into the Giraffe Classroom (screenshots 2 and 3), and it was more challenging than expected! Integrating the characters into the backgrounds can look wonky, especially when I take some shortcuts with the perspective of the background itself. All of the girls will display placeholder text when clicked on, except Maddie. And that's all for today! Next week, I plan to continue working on the segment with Maddie.
