I wanted to say thanks again for all of the support guys. Hitting my goal of 200 patrons was great and very motivating. I wanted to share what I've been trying to learn while I work on these vids.

Right now I'm in full Blender tutorial mode. I've been learning how to use the interface as its.....different to anything that I have ever used. They way to move the camera around is what really throws me off.

I've found a few models that are fully rendered and rigged so i'm in the process of learning how to pose them in the program. After I get the hang of posing the models I will learn how to make environments and characters so I can finally do some of the things that I wanted to do. Like more than three characters on the screen at a time, tentacles, more alien looking creatures and even a large story plot.

The biggest limitation though of going with blender or even SFM is the render times. With TK17 there isn't a render time. I do all of the animation in game and then use a capture card to film clips of the animation to take into adobe premiere to do the editing and sound. With SFM and Blender I have to render it all within the program....which can take hours and possible days once I start to animate.

Right now I only have a VERY BASIC understanding of the program so I wouldn't expect much from it for now. I was just letting you know that I am pursuing the SFM/Blender goal.

Thanks Again!

Thank you Kamlesh. As long as I don't spread myself to thin I'll keep trying to bring more to you all to see. I think blender will be the best way to do it.

Considering the hard work you put in to master TK17 I am sure that it will not be long before you will even do better with Blender/SFM. We are prepared to wait knowing that the end will be so much better. Thank you for the update

Awesome metalcorey and I Agree. I'm currently doing a youtube tutorial from a complete novice perspective. Right now im making a donut from a simple polygon lol. I've used 3dsmax in the past in school and to me it was much easier to use. But its an expensive program.

as a 3D artist, I suggest you study the basics of 3D, so you can avoid the possible issues you could make if you go to modify the models. Anyway, I think that Blender wuold be better than SFM, maybe is much difficult, but it allows you to have more freedom.

Thanks predi. I like the look of blender more than sfm. Although sfm is the easier of the two to work with. Mass effect is my favorite RPG series, so that is the first thing I looked for. I just need Tali now lol.

Thank you Dalith that is Anna from the metro series.

The works of good animatiors using Blender are the greatest I've seen. And you already make so good animations in TK17. I'm sure you'll do some great work, once you really get into it. Also, I'm always happy to see Miranda :)

Glad to hear that you are learning new thing and congratz for the patreon goal! Also, who's that girl on the header picture ? :eyes:

Thanks Sgt.Kuribayashi Blender looks great once you turn up the quality. I really does blow away TK17. But it comes at a cost....Time.

Keep up with learning Blender! Many SFM animators move to Blender eventually. Blender being a proper 3D modelling/animation software like 3DS Max/Maya provides a far better albeit difficult starting experience but pays off in the end.
