86 EIGHTY SIX EPISODE 19 - 23 REACTION

86 EIGHTY SIX EPISODE 19 - 23 REACTION

Comments

This is by far the greatest anime of all time. The audience is required to put some effort into inferring and keeping track of the timeline is unmatched. The depth of character and their backstory makes you want to know their past before the 86 aswell. Anyways man, thought I'd say that and suggest you watch or react to 86 details, symbolism explained parts 1, 2 and 3 by Youtuber ctrlaltQQ. This will let you connect and understand why this is second to none, wont find it anywhere else. I look foward to something that can out rank this.

Finally caught up with the reactions and yes, this is truly one of the best anime adaptations ever made and one of the best Mecha animes ever made as well. Long live 86!

No, I do not mind lol, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to put this all here for us. I am truly grateful I am always fascinated you hear your views/ and perspective as an 86 veteran on the series. I know I'm not the best when it comes to trying to comprehend and put everything to getter but I'm trying and your insight always helps me out a ton. There's 12 volumes and still ongoing sheesh how much more can they cover I'm so curious I didn't expect it to run that long after the first season lol And it only gets better?? Thats what I love about her I always love seeing a series keep getting better as it goes along. I feel a lot of series tend to fall off or lose the edge they had in the very first season, but I'm happy to hear that won't be the case with 86. And when season 2 comes hopefully it comes I have my fingers crossed I hope you're watching it with me then!

Always enjoy seeing your comments Tunnelrat. I go by 86 & Company on YT but it is always a pleasure to see you around the community. I've seen you around on AldruicS channel. :) I've got him using the Teesubs and trying to explain things as well as we go.

Definitely wasn’t expecting you to binge the last remaining episodes but I ain’t complaining. Hope you don’t mind me just leaving some thoughts for the episodes. Episode 19 - Yes Kiri knows the Nouzen’s as he’s a distant cousin to Shin. Hence Kiriya Nouzen; Frederica explained it back in episode 15. Episode 20 - It’s mentioned in the LNs that fellow 86ers hated Shin because he was pretty much the embodiment of death. If the Reaper joins your squad, it was basically a sign ya’ll are dying. Some committed suicide when they resonated with him, or never resonated again after connecting, forgoing Shin’s protection and dying regardless. The only other one able to survive is Raiden. Furthermore he was also discriminated against because of his hair and eye colour. It being evident he possessed the blood of the old Empire’s nobility; the ones that created the Legion. All in all, Shin truly believes the reason his parents, brother and comrades die is because of him. And that’s a very deep hole of survivor’s guilt one can’t climb out of. Episode 21 - Now imagine being left on that cliffhanger for 2 months: 86 days exactly. It definitely added to the experience once the last 2 episodes did release though coz bloody masterpiece. Episode 22 - If you’re curious as to to why or how Lena is there it’s because the squad has slowly been making their way back to the Republic where the Morpho is situated. You can see hints here and there from the previous episodes like the ruined flag of San Magnolia, as well as the fallen statue and signs. Whilst the supposed ‘deaths’ may feel like a copout, their survival is very vital for Shin who convinced himself they were dead. His mental state was already taking a dive so makes sense from his perspective to assume they died but unlike episode 11, I don’t think they were trying to pull one on the viewers. Raiden’s is probably the most miraculous but it’s explained later in the LN that the Reginlief has a basic autopilot system. There are a few frames when Fido was behind Raiden and moving away before the shot, hinting at his survival. Activating the autopilot, he hopped aboard Fido which is why he’s seen next to Fido when he was revealed. And that field of Lycoris? Same field Spearhead has previously passed by during episode 9. So in a way, has somewhat come full circle. 86 symbolism. Episode 23 - Literally peak. One of the most satisfying endings ever and even if there won’t be a season 2, I think they ended it off in a rewarding way. But as an LN reader, I hope there will more seasons to come because there’s still so much left and this season only covered volumes 1-3 (which is basically the prologue as volume 2-3 cover the last chapter and epilogue of volume 1) with the LN still ongoing with 12 volumes. Believe me when I say it only gets better from here. Nice little details at the end with Shin and Lena’s hand making an 86 in that final frame. Kurena’s foot going in-between Shin and Lena’s showing she hasn’t accepted that topic just yet. And flashbacks of a young Shin from Fido’s memories too is a little tease of more world building in the later LNs. Happy you enjoyed the anime though. Always nice to have more people watch this masterpiece; whilst not underrated, definitely underwatched compared to other shows. I wouldn’t expect a season 2 any time soon seeing how packed A1 is right now and them putting Nier on indefinite hiatus certainly doesn’t bode well. But we’ll see; earliest maybe being 2024.
