Very well-analyzed thank you for this, indeed I can understand that when playing games like this at high stakes logic can be thrown out the window especially when you feel like there is no way for you to overcome. I just wish Kaiji would've won you know like damn everything was riding on his victory. I didn't expect him to lose his fingers either, but for sure Kaiji will learn from this and do a lot in season 2 I feel it.

Kaiji was greedy and reckless and overstayed his welcome yeah... that flaw of his is apparent but the fact remains that he was given a chance. Beyond all reason Hyoudou was willing to give Kaiji the opportunity to find his own path to victory, and he failed at the key moment.
If you've ever played a trading card game or any other game of chance and skill at a serious, competitive level, that lesson should hit hard for you as it did for me. When things seem impossible it's far too easy to fall into the trap Kaiji did, of giving up logic and instead praying to god, whether it be for a good topdeck or a lucky shot or better RNG. The reality is that it's almost always up to you to swing the odds in your favour (as the opening lyrics say). The danger of that weak mindset is what Hyoudou taught Kaiji at the very end by giving him the "lucky" winning lot.
Thanks as always for the fun reactions Ken, they're great. Looking forward to S2 whenever you get around to it.
