Important Update (small hiatus)

Hey everyone, I've been meaning to make a post at some point in those past few days informing everyone I'll be going abroad on holiday, so I am taking a break. I figured I'd just make it about a day before the day I will be away for two important reasons: keeping things clean & concise, and most importantly, pausing your billing cycle at the same time as this post.

Nothing extremely serious, but if I am to admit, I believe I am experiencing heavy symptoms of burnout. Rather, for the past few months, even. I believe this is the first hiatus that I will be publicly announcing - in the past it's just been fluctuations of activity without fully putting things to a stop for myself.

I haven't quite been able to make some new quick stuff this past week or fully finalize what I've had in the works which is why I will be pausing billing. I don't want to blame it all on burnout, but I cannot pinpoint anything else other than... probably being very self-critical resulting in stuff like undervaluing my work. I hate to admit or even talk about it, so I'm sure this seems very out of the blue.

I should be away for about 3 weeks, while the billing cycle should be paused for about 4 weeks (which I am happy with!). I've made backups in case I need (or want) to open up any files, but I'm not backing up every single thing I have so if I've missed something I will not be able to do anything about it.

Although, I will aim to avoid most work while I am abroad because it wouldn't exactly be a break if I try to just set up my workstation again remotely. Sometimes I feel I don't acknowledge this: I really need to pause. Hoooowever, I do aim to be doing some planning of what I want to do when I come back so I don't waste time and come back without any sort of to-do list. I feel I've also been struggling in the past on the planning side as I often wing most of my stuff, but I've been working to alleviate this as well with a personal work Trello that my friend Unseen has helped me with :)


I apologise if there's any spelling errors or something doesn't quite make sense - I'm overdue some sleep so I will edit the post if it's really needed, but I hope to come back better.

(P.S. if everything goes well, I may also be opening commissions - I know a lot of people have been waiting for a long time now)
