📝Pipers Production Diary 23/11/02

Hello fellow Pipers!

I've had a hectic week. I caught both COVID-19 and stomach flu and spent a lot of time lying down. Until just last week, I was busy with freelance work, animatic tasks, and Halloween shorts production all at once, but seeing my body fall ill, it seems like it might have been too much of a stretch. 😥

Yet, if there's good news... it's that thanks to this new job, I can save a little more money to complete the video! Even if I do all the work alone, money is essential for bringing in voice actors or renting recording studios. Still, through this job, I've laid the foundation to finish without external funding.

Whether it's failure or success, the experiences we go through somehow connect and push us forward. Even though I didn't get the grant, the experience of drawing 200 storyboards in a week has increased my work speed and made it easier to gauge the amount of freelance work. The feedback and support I receive from my freelance work also contribute to improving my work.

Continuously finding these connections, I believe, will eventually lead to the finish line.

Working with other artists, I realize... creation seems to melt down someone's life. In that sense, animation and movies are fascinating. A piece of work created from someone's life can act as a mirror for others to peek into someone else's life. Many things might be fictional, but if the content resonates with someone's heart, it holds immense value, I believe.

I'm sorry I couldn't bring more news. I'll recover and come back stronger with some small sneak peek of the actual animatic! Take care of yourselves and have a wonderful day!

안녕하세요 파이퍼즈 동료 여러분!

다사다난한 한 주를 보냈습니다. 

코로나와 위염이 함께 걸려 누워서 많은 시간을 보냈어요.

바로 전주까지도 외주와 애니메틱 작업,그리고 할로윈 숏츠 제작을 동시에 바쁘게 진행하기 시작했는데, 몸이 바로 아프는 걸 보니 무리한 계획이었나 봅니다. 😥

그럼에도 좋은 소식이 있다면... 지금 새로 시작하게된 일 덕분에 영상을 완성하기 위한 자금을 조금은 더 모아둘수 있다는 점이에요! 모든 작업을 혼자 한다고 하더라도 성우분들을 모셔오기 위해서나 녹음 스튜디오를 빌리기 위해서는 무조건적으로 돈이 필요했는데, 그래도 이 일을 통해서 지원금이 없어도 마무리 지을 수 있는 기틀을 잡을 수 있게 되었어요.

실패든 성공이든 겪었던 일들은 어떻게든 연결이 되어 나아가는것 같아요.

지원사업은 떨어졌어도 일주일만에 스토리보드를 200장씩 그렸던 경험은 작업 속도를 빨라지게 했고, 외주 작업량을 더 쉽게 파악할 수 있게 해주었어요.

그리고 외주에서 받고있는 제 그림에 대한 피드백과 지원은 제 작품을 발전시키는데에도 도움이 되고 있구요. 

앞으로도 계속 이런 연결점을 찾아나가다 보면 결국 결승점에 다다르겠지요?

다른 작가님의 작업을 함께 도우면서 느끼는 바는... 참, 창작이란 어떤이의 삶을 깎아 녹여 만드는 것 같습니다. 그런 의미에선 애니메이션이나 영화는 참 재미있는 것 같아요. 누군가의 삶을 담아 만든 작품 하나가, 또 누군가의 삶을 들여다 볼 수 있는 거울같은 역할을  하니까요. 많은 것들은 허구에 불과하지만, 그 내용이 누군가의 마음에 가 닿는다면 그 자체만으로도 큰 가치가 있지 않을까 믿고싶어요.

많은 소식 들고오지 못해서 죄송합니다. 힘내서 회복하고, 다음주에는 애니메틱을 조금이라도 공유드릴 수 있도록 할게요!
