Hello Fellow Pipers!

This week, I'll talk about "making lemonade," or more precisely, the English proverb, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."

When I heard this as a kid, I thought it was a fun and tasty expression! However, these days, the more I think about it, the more I feel it's a story with depth. Anyone can use good things to their advantage, but turning bad things into good, just like making lemonade with the right recipe, that's truly remarkable. And to do that, it takes a lot of effort and thought.

In that sense, even if lemons are sour, adding sugar and syrup can make them palatable. This failure to get funded was painful, but it wasn't something that shattered me, more like a lemon-like failure. Despite the challenges, I found my way back fairly quickly!

And I could do that because of the warm voices of Piper friends that illuminated my path.

After my last diary post, I received various emails and DMs.

People shared their experiences of overcoming tough times, cheered me on, and some even suggested diverse ways to get support from abroad. I thought I was walking this dark path alone, but in reality, many people are walking it together.

I used to have this misconception that 'completion, whether successful or not, is a predetermined fact.' For a while, this baseless stubbornness felt like it was suppressing me, making me feel a bit tortured. But now I think I've found the reason.

I can never stop this project. I want to prove, through this work, that Eugene, I, and all Piper friends can overcome hardships and achieve our dreams. I hope this project becomes a guiding light for someone's path, like some of our friends did for me. That's why I realized that these lemons are essential ingredients that can never be omitted, and I am no longer tortured by it.

The reason this project can turn into lemonade is because of you all, like sugar. Truly sweet and wonderful. Thank you for supporting Pipers and watching over me and our community. Thanks to all of you, we're quickly getting back on track! (Storyboard second draft 60% complete, basic structure of background modeling is done!)

안녕하세요 동료 파이퍼즈 여러분!

이번주는 '레몬에이드 만들기'에 대한 이야기를 해볼까해요.

더 정확히는 '삶이 너에게 레몬을 주면 레몬에이드를 만들라'는 영어 격언에 대한 이야기지요.

어렸을적 이 내용을 들었을 땐 참 재미있고 맛있는 표현이다! 하고 웃어 넘겼어요. 하지만 요즘들어 다시 생각 할수록 뼈가 담긴 이야기라고 느껴요. 사실 좋은 일을 이용해서 이득을 얻는건 누구나 할 수 있는 일이에요. 하지만 나쁜 일도 적절한 레시피로 좋은 일로 바꿀수 있는 사람이 정말 대단한 거지요. 그리고 그러기 위해서는 노력도, 생각도 많이 해야해요.

그런 의미에서 레몬이 아무리 셔도 설탕과 시럽을 더하면 먹을만 한것 처럼, 이번에 지원사업에 떨어진 실패도 아프지만 무너질 정도는 아닌, 딱 레몬같은 실패였어요. 며칠은 앞으로의 계획을 정비하며 방황했지만요. 그럼에도 불구하고 금방 길을 찾을 수 있었답니다!

그리고 그 길을 비춰준 건 파이퍼즈 분들의 따듯한 목소리였어요.

지난 다이어리가 올라가고 나서 다양한 이메일과 디엠들을 받았어요.

자신이 겪은 긴 역경의 시간을 이겨낸 경험을 공유 해주시면서 응원주신 분, 어떤 일이 있어도 계속 지켜봐 주실거라고 말씀주신 분, 작품을 지원 받을 수 있는 다양한 방법을 알려주신 분.... 어두운 길을 혼자 걷고 있다고 생각했는데, 사실은 많은 분들이 함께 걸어가고 있던거에요.

그동안 저에겐 '되든 안되든 완성은 예정된 사실'일거라는 오기가 있었어요. 한동안은 이 이유없는 고집이 저를 억압하고 구속하는 것 같이 느껴져서 조금은 괴로워 했던 적도 있었죠. 하지만 이제 그 근거를 찾은것 같아요.

제가 이 작업을 절대 그만둘 수 없는 이유는, 이 작품을 통해 유진이, 제가, 또 모든 파이퍼즈 친구들이 역경을 딛고 꿈을 이룰 수 있다는 점을 증명하고 싶어서였어요. 이 작품이 누군가의 길을 비추는 빛이 되었으면 바라면서요.  그렇기 때문에 이 레몬들은 절대 빠질수 없는 필수 재료구나 라는 사실을 깨닫고 더이상 괴롭지 않았어요.

이 작품이 레몬에이드가 될 수 있는 이유는 여러분이라는 설탕 덕분에 가능한 일이에요. 정말 달달하고 멋진 여러분들, 파이퍼즈를 응원해주셔서 지켜봐주셔서 감사합니다. 오늘 많은 것을 바로 많은것을 공유드리진 못했지만, 빠른 도움닫기로 스토리보드 2차 60% 완성, 배경 모델링 기초 틀 잡기가 완료되었음을 말씀드려요!

앞으로도 받은 만큼 많은 것을 돌려드릴 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다!
