salutations, got another animated wip for you guys
this pretty much covers the whole animation (minus the lighting, which is done, i just disabled it to render this preview faster) - i'm actually already set to render this in full, i just felt like getting something out for you guys tonight since it'll likely take me till tomorrow to get the render and sound all finished.
i decided against doing a climax this time around just because things were already getting a bit unstable with how i set up the project and i didn't want to risk screwing any of the pre-existing animation up. however, something that i DID figure out was the physics - so that's working properly now (don't mind if some of the edges of the models look sharp or jagged, that's just because i turned off the modifiers that smooth things out for the sake of rendering a preview in a timely manner)
TECHNICAL MUMBO JUMBO FOR ANYONE WHO'S CURIOUS ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG: basically how i understand it is that simplicage just wasn't generating the weights for the cages, so there was no movement in the mesh despite the cage seeming to move just fine. i had to attempt weight painting those parts myself - which i've never done and know basically nothing about, so there might be some slight inconsistencies or jank in those bits. as far as i can tell though, it at least seemed to turn out pretty okay given the circumstances and my lack of knowledge in weight painting. anyways, that's all - thanks for reading.
