Ah man, I remember Yugioh. Caught some episodes on irregular times late in the afternoon (it was the final parts of Duelist Kingdom), and since I was a MTG enjoyer back then (Rorix Bladewing my beloved) I got into the YGO card game as well. MTG dates back to 1993, so it makes sense that Kazuki Takahashi (RIP) was inspired by it. And speaking of old things, Dororo is actually from 1967, so it was ancient lore even back then.
But Yugioh The Abridged Series was a phenomenon back then. In the early days of YouTube where pretty much anything went, YGOTAS was funny (though the humor can be quite dated), refreshing and took a thing people liked and made it better. To this day YGOTAS stands as the undisputed king, both of games and of Abridged series. LittleKuriboh created an entire media format that is on par with, well, VTubers and Let's Plays. While new episodes come out occasionally, production speed has slowed greatly because of a mix of other things going on in his life and issues he has with his health. He's also doing recaps of Yugioh GX, which is an absolute TRIP of a show on its own. In that he also had a brief stint as a Vtuber, so do with that information what you want. YGOTAS is now one of the Big Three of Abridged series alongside Dragon Ball Z Abridged and Sword Art Online Abridged, each of which have their own approach: YGOTAS makes fun of its show, DBZA has fun with its show and SAOA makes its show fun. Do note that YGOTAS' early episodes are rough. As in ROUGH rough, back from a time where you could use techno-sorcery to add something extra to the URL of a YouTube video to make it a staggering 480p, which was unheard of in those early days. So it's not like the videos were bad: they were limited by the technology used to create them. That's also half the reason I suggest not actually reacting to them: the other half being the copyright monster. You can watch them in your own time if the mood strikes you.
But you can't talk about the dubbed Yugioh anime without mentioning 4kids. It is dark lore for me that Bobby Kotick is part of the reason why 4kids dubs change so much. Sure it gave the goons that go after Kaiba invisible guns and scrapped the Pokemon episode where anime Clint Eastwood holds a gun to Ash' head, but the big loser here is One Piece where a gun was edited out in favor of a spring-loaded hammer.
Also holy shit I didn't know that the crossroads meme was an anime exclusive card played by Chazz Princeton of all people. It looks like that even in meme culture the guy knows how to Chazz It Up(TM).
