Stroggs are a faction of alien cyborgs in Quake universe.
Stroggification is becoming a strogg. Since they are cyborgs, this includes limb amputations and other such things.
In Quake 4 there is a scene of main character undergoing stroggification and you watch it in first person.

I've actually heard of these games before, but didn't know they were by this team. No hate to them, but I wish they would stick to what they're good at. At least then they wouldn't have to live up to such big names in the industry, with an expected standard from fans.
Also, Porco Rosso was incredible. I can't believe I didn't think of that movie with all the pig references, but I suppose I only associate Porco with good metaphors.

Yeah, this ain't no Porco Rosso with how it uses pig metaphors. Where the original was a horror game this is more like an interactive horror movie: you're expected to play along with the environment and the other actors (monsters), and if you don't it kinda falls apart. Running away from a door as a monster starts clawing at it works, but if you just keep standing there and watch the scratching nothing will happen. And if you want to make a story-heavy game, make sure it's not pigs all the way down.
The Chinese Room is best known for Dear Esther, but they also made other walking simulators like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Still Wakes The Deep, the latter of which is to Soma what this is to the original Amnesia. Meaning they've gone two for two with making inferior (spiritual) sequels. But the biggest thing they're working on now is none other than Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, a game with a legendarily troubled production. The original Bloodlines is considered to be one of the best cRPGs of all time, whose combat is not all that but has some of the best and most interesting main and side characters ever written. And it was made by the studio behind Arcanum to boot. So will The Chinese Room live up to a game that is a master at something they have as their forte, or will they go three for three with inferior sequels?
Hint: Given the footage we've seen of Bloodlines 2 so far we already have an idea of which one it's going to be.
