Accepting what has happened and how it shaped you into what you are, learning from it and use that experience to become a better person is a good message... except the event in question is the summoning of Iblis, who in Islam is analogous to Satan. And Mephiles is short hand for Mephistopheles, a demon in his own right. So while building character is important, it's not as important as preventing a demon from bringing the devil into the world to burn it all down. And while the revived Iblis was cast down by Allah's most righteous hedgehogs, the world was still pretty FUBAR so this timeline had to go. At least she did it for the right reasons I guess. The romance subplot between Sonic and Elise is kinda weird yes, but at least they're both minors. And yes, Sonic 2006 is not a good game. It is repetitive, janky, buggy, poorly conceived, designed, programmed, implemented, modelled, textured, voiced, written, and the loading times are terrible as well (long loading times + frequent loading times = bad times). At least some of the music's pretty good: His World is one of the best songs with vocals in the series' library. But the most important thing is that we're only a year and two days away from the year 2026, which would be the game's 20th anniversary... get on it, Sega.
