No, but some moments of H3 reminded him of Genesis Rising. To be clear, this game is also a space RTS inspired by Homeworld, but more... wacky.

Is Genesis Rising linked to the Homeworld Universe?

Yes, Deserts of Kharak is a good point to visit before Homeworld 3. His Genesis Rising video is also worth checking before H3.

18:54 that was Empire Earth, another game he made a video on. Empire Earth also used that music sting you heard.

Yeah, copyright is a funky thing. It's not about who's right, but about who's got the most money. Like how GW tried to copyright the term "Space Marine", only to be told no. This is why many of their armies have had their names changed in 40k (Imperial Guard to Astra Militarum, Eldar to Aeldari, Tau to T'au because you can't copyright letters of the Greek alphabet), and why all the armies in Age of Sigmar have their own funky names instead of something more straightforward.
And if you like horror in space, there's Mandalore's videos on the Dead Space games. I'd say watch them in release order: 1, 2, 3 and the remake of 1. The first two were quite effective as spooky action games, and the third was... well, it was in space I guess?

Dawn of war 1 is pretty good, and the expansions are more factions to enjoy
Dawn of war 2 is more RPG, and is pretty great
first expansion "Chaos Rising" expands on the base game and is fantastic
the 2nd expansion "Retribution" trades depths for a broader cast, giving access to 6 factions (Imperial Guard, Eldar, Space Marines, Chaos, Orks, Tyranids), but making the campaign quite generic.
so the worth of "Retribution" can very much based on taste and mood.
Dawn of War III makes me want to cry, before 3 the worst ive found the series was decent, dow3 is downright painfull to play at times.
