xxxholic anime had cut quite a few of the crossover parts with tsubasa(or plot hints i should say) due to the lack of confidence in the show if it didnt stand on its own Like yuki while watanuki was on the mountain didnt go to dinner but instead caputured one of those winged paracyte from another chapter and turned it into a buttlefly. basicly taunting a "unknown" foe with the "This will not go as you planned". Simply put the show on the surface basicly stays the same while the anime cut the background to keep it where it is. where as the manga has its universal story run its course trusting its fans and feltch out there tales
